Abstract
INDONESIA:
Pada saat ini di Indonesia pilihan jalur untuk menempuh pendidikan semakin beragam, mulai dari jalur pendidikan formal, nonformal, dan informal. Salah satu bentuk dari jalur pendidikan informal yang saat ini sedang berkembang adalah homeschooling. Ada beberapa alasan yang digunakan mereka dalam memilih dan menentukan model pembelajaran ini. Dan ada beberapa manfaat pula yang akan diperoleh, salah satunya adalah memaksimalkan potensi yang mereka tekuni tanpa harus mengganggu jadwal belajar. Homeschooling terbagi menjadi tiga tipe yaitu homeschooling tunggal, homeschooling majemuk dan homeschooling komunitas, ketiganya memiliki kelebihan dan kekurangan masing-masing. Remaja yang mengikuti homeschooling memiliki keterbatasan dalam sosialisasi teman sebaya jika dibandingkan dengan sekolah formal, remaja dapat bertemu dengan banyak teman sebaya sehingga remaja dapat mempelajari banyak hal dan memiliki kesempatan bergaul dengan lingkungan heterogen sehingga memiliki kompetensi sosial. Kompetensi sosial sangat penting karena diharapkan remaja mampu berinteraksi sosial secara efektif serta mampu memahami situasi sosial dan memilih perilaku yang tepat dalam berbagai situasi sosial. Berdasarkan latar belakang tersebut, maka penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran mengenai kompetensi sosial pada remaja yang mengikuti homeschooling.
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskripsi kualitatif. Jumlah subyek dalam penelitian ini tiga orang remaja ( BG, FT, AS ) usia 12-18 tahun yang mengikuti homeschooling komunitas di sekolah dolan Malang yang diperoleh dengan cara purposive sampling. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara semi terstruktur dan observasi. Hasil penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa kompetensi sosial remaja yang dimiliki oleh remaja homeschooling ditunjukkan dengan ciri-ciri tersendiri dalam pengusaannya pada setiap subyek. Dimana kedua subyek ( FT, AS ) menunjukkan kompetensi sosial ketika ia berada di lingkungan sosialnya dan ketika ia berada di rumahnya. Namun satu subyek menunjukkan kompetensi sosialnya di lingkungan sosialnya dan ketika di rumah ia kurang menguasai beberapa aspek dalam kompetensi sosial berupa aspek self evaluation, empati dan perilaku prososial. Selain itu, remaja homeschooling diberi kesempatan oleh orangtua untuk melakukan aktifitas- aktifitas yang diminati. Dengan demikian remaja dapat bersosialisasi dengan beragam orang dalam lingkungan sosial yang heterogen dan dapat membantu mengembangkan kemampuan sosial remaja dalam berinteraksi dengan oranglain.
EMGLISH:
Nowadays, there are many ways to get education in Indonesia. From formal education, nonformal and informal education. One of way from informal education being developed are homeschooling. There are some reasons that they used in selecting and determining the model of this learning. And there are also benefits to be gained, one of which is to maximize the potential interest without disturbing the learning schedule. Homeschooling is divided into three types namely single homeschooling, compound homeschooling , and community homeschooling, all have advantages and disadvantages of each. Adolescents who follow in the socialization of homeschooling has limitations when compared with peers of formal school, adolescent can meet with many peers so that teenagers can learn many things and have the opportunity interact with heterogeneous environments and thus have social competence. Social competence is very important because adolescents are expected to be able to effectively interact socially and to be able to understand social situations and choose appropriate behaviors in various social situations. Based on this background, this research aims to provide a picture of social competence in adolescents who follow homeschooling.
This research is a qualitative description. The number of subjects in this research is three adolescent aged 12-18 ( BG, FT, AS ) who followed homeschooling community in the sekolah Dolan Malang obtained by purposive sampling. Data collection methods used were semi-structured interviews and observation.
The results of this study revealed that adolescent social competence which is owned by the teenage homeschool shown with its own characteristics in pengusaannya on every subject. Where both subjects showed social competence when he was in their social environment, and when he was at his house. However, one subject showed social competence in their social environment at home and when he lacks control of some aspects of the social competence aspect of self evaluation, empathy and prosocial behavior. In addition, adolescents were given the opportunity by homeschooling parents to do activities that are in demand. Thus teenagers can socialize with various people in the social environment of heterogeneous and can help adolescents develop social skills in interacting with other people.
