Abstract

INDONESIA:

Ada banyak hal yang dapat mempengaruhi terlaksananya good corporate governance dalam perbankan, di antaranya adalah budaya organisasi. Lebih spesifik lagi, lingkungan kerja dan budaya organisasi lebih banyak dipengaruhi oleh kepemimpinan. Pemimpin pada dasarnya adalah tokoh utama yang sangat menentukan kemajuan dan keunggulan kompetitif suatu organisasi. Pemimpin tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai manajer yang efektif, namun sekaligus juga menjadi pemimpin transformasional. Pemimpin diharapkan dapat membawa organisasi/institusi mencapai kinerja yang melebihi ekspektasi secara berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan implementasi kepemimpinan Islami di PT. Bank Syariah Mandiri serta menganalisis perannya dalam membangun good corporate governance.

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif. Studi yang berupaya mengungkap makna tindakan subjektif, tidak mungkin bisa dicapai jika mengandalkan pendekatan positivism atau kuantitatif yang general yang hanya mengungkapkan kulitnya saja. (Fatchan, 2011:129) Oleh sebab itu, pendekatan fenomenologi daalam penelitian ini dianggap paling tepat.

Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan dari 8 indikator kepemimpinan Islami yang ada, beberapa di antaranya belum terimplementasikan secara optimal. Indikator-indikator tersebut di antaranya adalah indikator pengetahuan agama dan indikator kemampuan intelektual yang mencakup adanya ide / gagasan baru dan kemampuan diplomasi. Kemudian berdasarkan implementasi tersebut, masing-masing indikator memiliki peranan penting dalam pelaksanaan 5 prinsip good corporate governance yaitu prinsip keterbukaan, akuntabilitas, pertanggungjawaban, professional, dan kewajaran.

ENGLISH:

There are many things affect the implementation of good corporate governance in banks, among which is the culture of the organization. More specifically, the work environment and organizational culture is more influenced by the leadership. Leader is basically the main character that will determine the progress and competitive advantage to an organization. Leader not only serves, but also as an effective manager, but it also becomes a transformational leader. Leaders are expected to bring the organizations / institutions achieve performance exceeding expectations in a sustainable manner. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Islamic leadership in PT. Bank Syariah Mandiri and analyze its role in establishing good corporate governance.

This research is qualitative. Studies that seek to reveal the meaning of the subjective measures, might not be achieved if relying on quantitative approaches or general positivism which only reveals skin only. (Fatchan, 2011: 129) Therefore, this study daalam phenomenological approach deemed most appropriate.

Results from this study show from 8 indicators Islamic leadership that exist, some of which have not been implemented optimally. These indicator are indicators of religious knowledge and intellectual abilities indicators that include their ideas / new ideas and the ability of diplomacy. Then based on these implementations, each indicator has an important role in the implementation of the five principles of good corporate governance, namely the principles of openness, accountability, responsibility, professional, and fairness.
