Language style of the main characters in “Stargirl 2020” movie

ABSTRAK

Gaya bahasa dapat diartikan sebagai kata yang digunakan seseorang ketika berada dalam suatu kondisi atau tempat tertentu. Gaya bahasa manusia bergantung pada siapa audiensnya dan di mana mereka berbicara. Penelitian ini menyelidiki gaya bahasa dan fungsi bahasa yang digunakan oleh karakter dalam film “Stargirl 2020”.

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah (1). Untuk mengetahui jenis gaya bahasa yang digunakan oleh karakter dalam film “Stargirl 2020” dan perbedaan penggunaan gaya intim oleh karakter dalam film “Stargirl 2020” (2). Untuk mengetahui fungsi bahasa yang digunakan oleh karakter dalam menggunakan gaya bahasa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori oleh Martin Joos (1967) dan Jakobson (1980).

Peneliti menemukan empat jenis gaya bahasa dalam film ini, yaitu gaya formal, gaya kasual, gaya konsultatif, dan gaya intim, sedangkan gaya beku tidak ditemukan dalam film “Stargirl 2020”. Untuk lebih jelasnya sebagai berikut: gaya bahasa formal (8), gaya bahasa kasual (16), gaya bahasa konsultatif (14), dan gaya bahasa intim (5) dengan gaya bahasa kasual sebagai gaya bahasa yang paling dominan. Peneliti juga menemukan 5 fungsi bahasa yang teridentifikasi dalam film ini, yaitu (10) fungsi emotif, (11) fungsi referensial, (2) fungsi konatif, (19) fungsi fatis, dan (1) fungsi puitis. Kemudian, terdapat perbedaan penggunaan gaya bahasa intim dalam film “Stargirl 2020”, Leo Borlock mendominasi penggunaan gaya bahasa intim dengan data (1) ekstraksi, (2) hubungan sahabat karib dan (1) hubungan kekeluargaan. Peneliti menyarankan kepada para pembaca untuk lebih mengenal gaya bahasa dan fungsinya karena hal tersebut dapat membantu seseorang berbicara dengan tepat dalam berbagai konteks.

ABSTRACT

Language style can be defined as a word that someone uses when they are in a certain condition or place. Human’s language style depends on who the audience is and where they are speaking. This research investigated language styles and language functions used by characters in “Stargirl 2020” movie.

The aims of this research are (1). To find out the types of language styles used by characters in the movie "Stargirl 2020" and the differences in the use of intimate style by the characters in film “Stargirl 2020” (2). To find out the language function used by characters in using language style. This study used a descriptive qualitative method. This research used the theory by Martin Joos (1967) and Jakobson (1980).

The researcher found four types of language styles in this film, namely formal style, casual style, consultative style, and intimate style, while frozen style was not found in the film "Stargirl 2020". For more details as follows: formal style (8), casual style (16), consultative style (14), and intimate style (5) with casual style as the most dominant language style. The researcher also found 5 language functions identified in this film, namely (10) emotive function, (11) referential function, (2) conative function, (19) phatic function, and (1) poetic function. Then, there is a difference in the use of intimate language style in “Stargirl 2020” movie, Leo Borlock dominates the use of intimate language style with data, (1) extraction, (2) close friend relationships and (1) family relationship. The researcher advises readers to be more familiar with language styles and their functions because this can help someone speak appropriately in various contexts.

يمكن تعريف أسلوب اللغة بأنه الكلمات التي يستخدمها الشخص عندما يكون في حالة أو مكان معين. يعتمد أسلوب لغة الإنسان على من هو الجمهور وأين يتحدث. بحث هذا البحث في أساليب اللغة والوظائف اللغوية التي تستخدمها الشخصيات في فيلم "Stargirl "٢٠٢٠

.أهداف هذا البحث هي (١). لمعرفة أنواع أساليب اللغة التي تستخدمها الشخصيات في فيلم "٢٠٢٠Stargirl " والاختلافات في استخدام الأسلوب الحميمي من قبل الشخصيات في فيلم "٢٠٢٠ Stargirl . لمعرفة الوظيفة اللغوية التي تستخدمها الشخصيات في استخدام أسلوب اللغة. استخدمت هذه الدراسة المنهج الوصفي النوعي. استخدم هذا البحث نظرية مارتن جوس (1967) وجاكوبسون (1980).
