Abstract
INDONESIA:
ENGLISH:
At this time, children with special needs in inclusive schools are in need of self- confidence. Teachers should pay more attention to children with special needs through the appropriate treatment for the child's confidence increases. Self-confidence is one of the base of the attitudes and behavior, so the higher the confidence of children so the more easily the challenges children face in their daily life especially for children with special needs (ABK).
The existence of negative social labeling that ABK is a child who "mendho" or "stupid" from the local community Sidowayah, related to the presence of inclusion in school SDN 04 Krebet led to discrimination against the crew in the area. Most of the crew was active but non- responsive and productive in the study, quiet, slow, insecure and less able to socialize.
With the limitations that exist in Sidowayah, came the initiative to use a method that is positive deviance approach, which is basically the approach can be applied to various problems, particularly those requiring social or behavioral changes.
Through action research methods are supported by descriptive data processing with complementary quantitative, this study aims to determine how the the role of teacher positive peviance to improve self- confidence For Children with Special Needs (ABK). The subjects totaled 13 grade students in SDN 04 Krebet inclusion, Sidowayah Ponorogo..
The study was conducted for about one month after the applied teacher positive deviance as the act was to increase self confidence indicator and the number of ABK percentage of students who are confident, from the beginning only increased approximately 23% to 46%.
The conclusion that the study is in addition able to prove the truth of the hypothesis, that positive deviance has a role in increasing self confidence ABK, it can be said also that the Positive Deviance can also be applied to the field of education especially with regard to inclusion of students in the class crew.
