Abstract

INDONESIA:

Memasuki masa remaja, individu mulai memikirkan pentingnya pencapaian prestasi. Sementara itu sejauh mana remaja termotivasi untuk berprestasi turut dipengaruhi oleh konsep dirinya. Di sekolah, rendahnya motivasi berprestasi adalah faktor yang menghambat remaja untuk mengembangkan dirinya. Rendahnya motivasi berprestasi ini banyak dipengaruhi oleh kondisi keluarga yang tidak adekuat dalam mendukung pencapaian prestasi anak, juga pergaulan dengan teman sebaya yang juga memiliki motivasi rendah. Maka di sini dianggap penting adanya program yang membantu siswa mengembangkan motivasi berprestasinya, yaitu dengan pelatihan “Self Concept Building”. Pelatihan ini disusun dari teori mengenai konsep diri dengan harapan peserta dapat diarahkan untuk membentuk konsep diri yang positif yang kemudian berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan motivasi berprestasi mereka.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat motivasi berprestasi siswa di MAN 2 Model Palu sebelum dan setelah mengikuti pelatihan self-concept building, juga untuk mengetahui apakah pelatihan self-concept building efektif untuk meningkatkan motivasi berprestasi pada siswa di MAN 2 Model Palu.

Penelitian ini adalah eksperimen dengan desain one group pretest-posttest dengan subjek sebanyak 30 siswa. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan angket, dilengkapi dengan observasi, wawancara, dan catatan diri berupa lembar kerja.

Hasil penelitian ini adalah, pelatihan Self-Concept Building berpengaruh dalam meningkatkan motivasi berprestasi. Setelah dilakukan analisis paired sample T-Test pada program SPSS 16.0 for windows, diperoleh nilai t-hitung lebih besar dari t-tabel yaitu |-2.352| > 2,056 dan taraf taraf signifikan 0,026 < 0,05.

ENGLISH:

In the adolescence, achievement is very important for teens. Meanwhile, how motivated students to get achievement is influenced by their self concept. In School, low of achivement motivation complicates student to improve their skill.

This matter much influenced by inadequate condition of familiy in order to support students to get their achievement. Peers who have low achivement is also considered influence student’s motivation. Depend on this case, a program to help student develop their achievement motivation is very important. Then, the program called “Self Concept Building”. This coaching was arranged from self-concept theory with expectation that the participant can develop their own positive self-concept and finally affected in enhancement achievement motivation.

This experimental research used one group pre-test post-test design. From the determination of the sample was obtained 30 training participants. Collecting data of the research used questionnaire method and completed by observation, interview, and workbook.

This study aimed to know achievement motivation level during pre-test and post-test and to get know whether Self-Concept Building Coaching can influence the achievement motivation of students of MAN 2 Model Palu (as participants).

This Result of this study is Self-Concept Building Coaching effects to develop achievement motivation. The result was analyzed by paired sample T-Test analysis used SPSS 16.0 for windows program. The data showed that “t” value greater than “t” table, each |-2.352| > 2,056 and significant level of 0,026 < 0,05.
