Abstract

INDONESIA:

Kebun binatang atau biasa disebut taman margasatwa adalah tempat hewan dipelihara dalam lingkungan buatan, dan dipertunjukkan kepada publik. Kebun binatang berfungsi sebagai tempat pendidikan, riset, rekreasi dan tempat konservasi untuk satwa terancam punah. Salah satu kebun binatang yang menampung hewan-hewan tersebut adalah Kebun Binatang Surabaya, kebun binatang ini juga berfungsi sebagai area penghijauan. Akan tetapi terdapat masalah-masalah seperti kondisi kandang yang tidak lagi memperhatikan kebersihan dan lingkungan habitat aslinya, serta alur sirkulasi yang membingungkan.

Melihat hal itu perancangan kembali perlu dilakukan, untuk mengatasi masalah-masalah yang ada didalamnya. Adapun metode yang dilakukan adalah pengumpulan data dengan cara observasi, survey, kajian pustaka, dan studi banding, menganalisis dan membuat konsep terhadap objek rancangan.

Green Architecture merupakan tema yang digunakan sebagai upaya untuk mewujudkan rancangan yang ramah lingkungan dan tidak merusak lingkungan. Dengan konsep keterbukaan membantu memudahkan rancangan dalam mewujudkan tujuan yang ingin dicapai, seperti pemanfaatan energy yang ada pada kawasan, membuat lingkungan mikro terhadap hewan-hewan sesuai dengan lingkungan aslinya dan juga kenyamanan pengunjung.

ENGLISH:

A zoo, commonly referred as a wildlife park, is a place where animals are kept in artificial environments and displayed to the public. Zoos serve as a place of education, research, recreation and conservation for many species, including endangered animals. One of the zoos in Java that houses animals is the Surabaya Zoo. This zoo not only affects the animals that live in it but also has an impact on the surrounding environment that serves as a green area. There are issues that affect the development of the animals in the zoo as well as the comfort of the visitors. Along with the lack of attention to hygiene and creating a natural habitat necessary for the animals, the visitor pathways are unorganized.

In order to overcome the problems that exist, the Surabaya Zoo needs to be redesigned. The method is carried out through data collection by means of observation, surveys, literature review, comparative studies, analysis and creating concepts of design.

Green Architecture is a theme that is used to invent a design that is friendly to the environment. The concept of openness is intended to help facilitate the design in realizing the objectives to be achieved, such as the utilization of energy that exist in the region, making the microenvironment of the animals in accordance with its natural environment and also the convenience of visitors.
