Abstract
INDONESIA:
Adversity quotient merupakan suatu kemampuan individu dalam menggunakan kecerdasannya untuk bertahan dalam menghadapi segala macam kesulitan sampai menemukan jalan keluar, memecahkan berbagai permasalahan, dan mereduksi hambatan dan rintangan, dengan mengubah cara berpikir dan sikap terhadap kesulitan tersebut. Setiap individu yang hidup pasti pernah menemui permasalahan. Kecerdasan intelektual adalah kemampuan yang di dalamnya mencakup belajar dan pemecahan masalah, menggunakan kata-kata, dan simbol. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, rumusan penelitian ini adalah: (1) Bagaimana tingkat adversity quotient peserta didik MTs Darul Karomah? (2) Bagaimana tingkat kecerdasan intelektual peserta didik MTs Darul Karomah? (3) Apakah ada hubungan antara kecerdasan intelektul dengan adversity quotient pada peserta didik MTs Darul Karomah?
Penelitian ini bertujuan: (1) Mengetahui tingkat adversity quotient peserta didik MTs Darul Karomah (2) Mengetahui tingkat kecerdasan intelektual peserta didik MTs Darul Karomah (3) Mengetahui ada/tidak hubungan antara kecerdasan intelektul dengan adversity quotient pada peserta didik MTs Darul Karomah.
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VIII MTs Darul Karomah yang berjumlah 55 orang, dengan alasan peserta didik kelas VIII relatif lebih mapan di sekolah daripada peserta didik kelas VII, dan tidak akan terlalu mengganggu proses kegiatan belajar-mengajar jika dibandingkan dengan peserta didik kelas IX, yang dituntut lebih intensif untuk mempersiapkan berbagai ujian. Penelitian ini menggunakan salah satu analisis korelasi sederhana (bivariate correlation), yaitu Product Moment Pearson two tailed.
Dari hasil analisis korelasi sederhana (r) didapat korelasi antara kecerdasan intelektual dengan adversity quotient adalah 0,252. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terjadi hubungan yang rendah antara kecerdasan intelektual dengan adversity quotient. Sedangkan signifikansi sebesar 0,063. Dengan demikian, Ho diterima dan Ha ditolak. Kesimpulannya, tidak ada hubungan secara signifikan antara kecerdasan intelektual dengan adversity quotient pada peserta didik MTs Darul Karomah.
ENGLISH:
Adversity quotient is an individual ability to survive in facing variety of problems and difficulties until he can get a way out, solve those problems, and reduce obstacles and barriers by changing his way of thinking and attitudes against those problems. Intellectual intelligence is the ability that includes learning and solving problems, using words, and symbols. Based on these statements, the formulation of this research is: (1)What is the level of adversity quotientin students of MTs Darul Karomah? (2) What is the level of intellectual intelligencein students of MTs Darul Karomah? (3) What is the correlation of intellectual intelligence andadversity quotient in students of MTs Darul Karomah?
This research is aimed to: (1) Identify the level of adversity quotientin students of MTs Darul Karomah, (2) Identify the level of intellectual intelligencein students of MTs Darul Karomah, (3) Identify whether or not there is the correlation of intellectual intelligence and adversity quotient in students of MTs Darul Karomah.
This research is a quantitative research. The sample of this research is 55 grade VIII students of MTs DarulKaromah. The reason is that grade VIII students are more stable at school than grade VIII students and it will not distract and disturb the learning-teaching process more than it will for grade IX students, who are required to study more intensively to prepare for various exams. This research employs one of the simple bivariate correlationanalyses, i.e.Product Moment Pearson two tailed.
From the result of simple bivariate correlationanalysis (r), the correlation of intellectual intelligence and adversity quotientis 0,252. This shows that there is a low correlation between intellectual intelligence and adversity quotient.Furthermore, intellectual intelligence and adversity quotienthas significance of 0.063. Hence, Ho is acceptedand Ha is rejected. The conclusion is that there is no significant correlation between intellectual intelligence and adversity quotientin students of MTs Darul Karomah.
