Perancangan fasilitas edukasi terumbu karang dengan pendekatan Metafora di Pantai Watu Ulo Jember

Abstrak:

Pantai Watu Ulo merupakan salah satu destinasi wisata pesisir di Kabupaten Jember yang memiliki potensi alam dan identitas kawasan yang kuat, namun pengembangannya masih belum optimal dibandingkan kawasan wisata pantai lainnya. Kurangnya fasilitas edukasi, serta belum tersedianya sarana rekreasi berbasis lingkungan menyebabkan kawasan ini memerlukan pengembangan yang mampu meningkatkan daya tarik wisata sekaligus memberikan nilai edukatif. Oleh karena itu, perancangan ini bertujuan menghadirkan fasilitas edukasi terumbu karang dan laut yang mampu menjadi media pembelajaran, rekreasi, serta konservasi lingkungan pesisir.
Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam perancangan adalah Tangible Metaphor berdasarkan teori Lakoff dan Johnson dengan menerapkan prinsip embodiment, mapping, experiential, dan cultural relevance. Konsep utama yang digunakan adalah Reef as Living Ecosystem Architecture, yaitu bangunan dimetaforakan sebagai ekosistem terumbu karang yang tumbuh, berlapis, berpori, dan saling terhubung. Selain itu, bentuk sirkulasi kawasan mengambil inspirasi dari bentuk ular sebagai representasi identitas Watu Ulo.
Hasil perancangan menghasilkan kawasan fasilitas edukasi yang terdiri dari lorong edukasi interaktif, akuarium terumbu karang, area interaksi terumbu karang, laboratorium edukasi, amphitheater, taman vegetasi pantai, teras pandang, area publik, dan fasilitas pendukung lainnya. Tata massa bangunan dirancang menyebar menyerupai koloni terumbu karang dengan jalur sirkulasi yang organik dan berliku.
Perancangan ini diharapkan mampu menjadi identitas baru kawasan Pantai Watu Ulo sebagai destinasi wisata edukasi laut di Kabupaten Jember serta meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pentingnya terumbu karang dan lingkungan pesisir.

Abstract :

Watu Ulo Beach is a coastal tourist destination in Jember Regency, boasting rich natural resources and a strong regional identity. However, its development remains underdeveloped compared to other coastal tourist areas. The lack of educational facilities and the unavailability of environmentally-based recreational facilities mean that this area requires development that can enhance its tourist appeal while providing educational value. Therefore, this design aims to provide coral reef and marine educational facilities that can serve as a medium for learning, recreation, and coastal environmental conservation.
The design approach used is Tangible Metaphor, based on the theory of Lakoff and Johnson, applying the principles of embodiment, mapping, experiential learning, and cultural relevance. The main concept is Reef as Living Ecosystem Architecture, where the building is metaphorized as a growing, layered, porous, and interconnected coral reef ecosystem. Furthermore, the area's circulation system is inspired by the shape of a snake, representing Watu Ulo's identity.
The resulting design includes an educational facility consisting of an interactive educational corridor, a coral reef aquarium, a coral reef interaction area, an educational laboratory, an amphitheater, a coastal vegetation garden, a viewing terrace, a public area, and other supporting facilities. The building's massing is designed to resemble a coral reef colony, with organic, winding circulation paths.
This design is expected to establish a new identity for the Watu Ulo Beach area as a marine educational tourism destination in Jember Regency and raise public awareness of the importance of coral reefs and the coastal environment.

يُعد شاطئ واتو أولو وجهة سياحية ساحلية في مقاطعة جيمبر، يزخر بالموارد الطبيعية الغنية والهوية الإقليمية المميزة. ومع ذلك، لا يزال تطوره متخلفًا مقارنةً بمناطق سياحية ساحلية أخرى. فنقص المرافق التعليمية وعدم توفر مرافق ترفيهية صديقة للبيئة يعني أن هذه المنطقة بحاجة إلى تطوير يُعزز جاذبيتها السياحية ويُوفر في الوقت نفسه قيمة تعليمية. لذا، يهدف هذا التصميم إلى توفير مرافق تعليمية حول الشعاب المرجانية والبيئة البحرية، تُشكل وسيلة للتعلم والترفيه والحفاظ على البيئة الساحلية.

يعتمد التصميم على منهجية "الاستعارة الملموسة"، المستندة إلى نظرية لاكوف وجونسون، والتي تُطبق مبادئ التجسيد والتخطيط والتعلم التجريبي والملاءمة الثقافية. ويتمحور المفهوم الرئيسي حول "الشعاب المرجانية كنظام بيئي حيوي"، حيث يُجسد المبنى نظامًا بيئيًا للشعاب المرجانية ناميًا ومتعدد الطبقات ومساميًا ومترابطًا. علاوة على ذلك، استُلهم نظام الحركة في المنطقة من شكل الثعبان، رمزًا لهوية واتو أولو. يتضمن التصميم الناتج مرفقًا تعليميًا يتألف من ممر تعليمي تفاعلي، وحوض أسماك للشعاب المرجانية، ومنطقة تفاعلية مع الشعاب المرجانية، ومختبر تعليمي، ومدرج، وحديقة نباتية ساحلية، وشرفة مطلة، ومنطقة عامة، ومرافق أخرى داعمة. صُمم هيكل المبنى ليُحاكي مستعمرة من الشعاب المرجانية، مع مسارات حركة متعرجة وعضوية.

من المتوقع أن يُرسي هذا التصميم هوية جديدة لمنطقة شاطئ واتو أولو كوجهة سياحية تعليمية بحرية في مقاطعة جيمبر، وأن يُسهم في رفع مستوى الوعي العام بأهمية الشعاب المرجانية والبيئة الساحلية.
