تتناول هذه الدراسة تمثيلَ حرية المرأة وأشكالَ الآخرية في شخصية زينب في رواية زينب لمحمد حسين هيكل، وذلك في ضوء منظور النسوية الوجودية لدى سيمون دي بوفوار. وتهدف هذه الدراسة إلى:(1) وصف تمثيل حرية المرأة في شخصية زينب في رواية زينب,(2) تحليل أشكال الآخرية التي تعيشها شخصية زينب في إطار العلاقات الاجتماعية الأبوية في الرواية زينب. وتُعَدّ هذه الدراسة بحثًا نوعيًّا وصفيًّا، يتمثل مصدره الرئيس في رواية زينب، بينما تتمثل مصادره الثانوية في الكتب، والمقالات العلمية، والدراسات السابقة ذات الصلة. وقد جُمعت البيانات من خلال القراءة المكثفة، والتدوين، وتصنيف الاقتباسات المرتبطة بتمثيل حرية المرأة وأشكال الآخرية، ثم حُلّلت في ضوء النسوية الوجودية لدى سيمون دي بوفوار. وأظهرت النتائج أنّ حرية المرأة في شخصية زينب تُمثَّل بوصفها حريةً محدودة وغير مكتملة؛ إذ تظلّ زينب محتفظةً بإرادةٍ شخصية ووعيٍ باطني ورغبةٍ في تقرير حياتها، غير أنّ هذه الحرية لا تتحقق فعليًّا بسبب سلطة الأسرة، والأعراف الاجتماعية، ومؤسسة الزواج، والبنية الأبوية. كما بيّنت الدراسة أنّ أشكال الآخرية التي تعيشها زينب تتجلّى في علاقتها بالأب، والزوج، والبناء الاجتماعي الأبوي، وأساطير المرأة وصورها النمطية. وبذلك، تكشف الرواية أنّ المرأة لا تعاني من تقييد الحرية فحسب، بل تُبنى أيضًا بوصفها الطرف الثاني داخل النظام الأبوي.

ABSTRACT

This study discusses the representation of women’s freedom and the forms of otherness experienced by the character Zainab in the novel Zainab by Muhammad Husain Haikal, from the perspective of Simone de Beauvoir’s existentialist feminism. The objectives of this study are: (1) to describe the representation of women’s freedom in the character of Zainab, and (2) to analyze the forms of otherness experienced by the character within patriarchal social relations in the novel. This study is descriptive qualitative research. The primary data source is the novel Zainab, while the secondary data sources consist of books, scholarly articles, and previous studies relevant to Simone de Beauvoir’s existentialist feminism. The data were collected through intensive reading, note-taking, and classification of quotations related to the representation of women’s freedom and the forms of otherness, and were then analyzed through the perspective of Simone de Beauvoir’s existentialist feminism. The results of the study show that women’s freedom in the character of Zainab is represented as limited and incomplete freedom. Zainab still possesses personal will, inner consciousness, and the desire to determine her own life, but this freedom cannot be fully realized because it is constrained by family authority, social norms, the institution of marriage, and patriarchal structures. This study also shows that the forms of otherness experienced by Zainab are reflected in her relationship with her father, her husband, patriarchal social construction, as well as myths and stereotypes about women. Thus, the novel demonstrates that women experience not only restrictions on their freedom, but are also systematically constructed as the secondary party within a patriarchal system.

ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini membahas representasi kebebasan perempuan dan bentuk-bentuk otherness pada tokoh Zainab dalam novel Zainab karya Muhammad Husain Haikal, dalam perspektif feminisme eksistensialis Simone de Beauvoir. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk : (1) mendeskripsikan representasi kebebasan perempuan pada tokoh Zainab, dan (2) menganalisis bentuk-bentuk otherness yang dialami tokoh tersebut dalam relasi sosial patriarkal di dalam novel. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Sumber data utamanya adalah novel Zainab, sedangkan sumber data sekundernya berupa buku, artikel ilmiah, dan penelitian terdahulu yang relevan. Data dikumpulkan melalui pembacaan intensif, pencatatan, dan klasifikasi kutipan-kutipan yang berkaitan dengan representasi kebebasan perempuan dan bentuk-bentuk otherness, kemudian dianalisis dalam perspektif feminisme eksistensialis Simone de Beauvoir. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kebebasan perempuan pada tokoh Zainab direpresentasikan sebagai kebebasan yang terbatas dan tidak utuh. Zainab tetap memiliki kehendak pribadi, kesadaran batin, dan keinginan untuk menentukan hidupnya sendiri, tetapi kebebasan tersebut tidak dapat terwujud secara nyata karena dibatasi oleh otoritas keluarga, norma sosial, institusi pernikahan, dan struktur patriarki. Penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa bentuk-bentuk otherness yang dialami Zainab tampak dalam relasinya dengan ayah, suami, konstruksi sosial patriarki, serta mitos dan stereotip perempuan. Dengan demikian, novel ini memperlihatkan bahwa perempuan tidak hanya mengalami pembatasan kebebasan, tetapi juga dikonstruksi sebagai pihak kedua dalam sistem patriarki.
