Abstract

INDONESIA:

Pendidikan karakter di Indonesia dirasakan amat perlu pengembangannya bila mengingat makin meningkatnya tawuran antar pelajar, serta bentuk-bentuk kenakalan remaja lainnya terutama di kota-kota besar, pemerasan/kekerasan (bullying), penggunaan narkoba, dan lain-lain. Oleh karena itu, konsep pendidikan karakter harus mengambil posisi yang jelas, bahwa karakteristik seseorang dapat dibentuk melalui pendidikan. Pendidikan seperti apakah yang mampu membentuk karakteristik tersebut, jawaban atas pertanyaan inilah yang disebut dengan pendidikan karakter. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini, Pertama, mendeskripsikan secara empiris dan objektif perencanaan pendidikan karakter di SMA Negeri 1 Kota Batu dan MA Negeri Kota Batu. Kedua, mendeskirpsikan implementasi pendidikan karakter di SMA Negeri 1 Kota Batu dan MA Negeri Kota Batu. Ketiga, mendeskripsikan secara empiris dan objektif evaluasi pendidikan karakter di SMA Negeri 1 Kota Batu dan MA Negeri Kota Batu. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif, dengan menggunakan rancangan studi multi kasus, karena penelitian ini dilakukan di dua lokasi penelitian yang berbeda namun memiliki persamaan dalam penelitian, yakni implementasi pendidikan karakter. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui pengamatan, wawancara, dan penelaahan dokumen. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis data lintas kasus yang bertujuan untuk membandingkan dan memadukan temuan yang diperoleh dari masing-masing kasus penelitian. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menemukan beberapa temuan dalam perencanaan pendidikan karakter di sekolah SMA Negeri 1 Kota Batu dan MA Negeri Kota Batu, diantaranya yaitu: guru menanamkan nilai-nilai karakter kepada siswanya yang diintegrasikan dalam RPP bermuatan pendidikan karakter, menyelenggarakan workshop penyusunan kurikulum SSN bermuatan pendidikan karakter, menjalin kerjasama dengan Lemjantek Kota Batu serta melalui ketertiban sekolah, dan membudayakan lingkungan madrasah yang islami. Implementasi pendidikan karakter di sekolah SMA Negeri 1 Kota Batu dan MA Negeri Kota Batu dilakukan melalui 3 aspek, diantaranya: melalui lingkungan sekolah dan madrasah, kegiatan belajar di dalam kelas serta kegiatan pembinaan peserta didik (ekstrakurikuler). Evaluasi pendidikan karakter di sekolah SMA Negeri 1 Kota Batu dan MA Negeri Kota Batu, dilakukan melalui penilaian skor pada kartu tatib, penilaian sikap pada siswa yang termaktub dalam raport.

ENGLISH:

Character education in Indonesia felt sorely need to develop when considering the increasingly growing Brawl between students, as well as other forms of juvenile delinquency more especially in the big cities, blackmail/violence (bullying), drug use, and others. Therefore, the concept of character education must take a clear position, that person's characteristics can be shaped through education. Such education is capable of forming such characteristics, the answer to the question is what is known as character education. As for the purposes of this study, first, to describe the planning of character education in Senior High School 1 Batu and Madrasah Aliyah Batu empirically and objectively. Second, to describe the implementation of character education in Senior High School 1 Batu and Madrasah Aliyah Batu. Third, to describe the evaluation of character education in Senior High School 1 Batu and Madrasah Aliyah Batu empirically and objectively. The approach used in this study is a qualitative approach, using a multi case study design, because this research was conducted in two different research locations but has parallels in the study, namely the implementation of character education. The technique of collecting data through observation, interviews, and review of the document. This research uses cross-case data analysis which has some purposes to compare and integrate the findings obtained from each research case. In this study, the researchers found some findings in planning of character education at Senior High School 1 Batu and Madrasah Aliyah Batu, among them are: the teacher imparting the values of character to their students who are integrated in the design of learning programs (RPP) with character education, organized a workshop on the preparation of the curriculum of School of national standards with character education, entered into a partnership with institute for the study of technology as well as via orderliness, schools and to cultivate an islamic environment. Implementation of character education at Senior High School 1 Batu and Madrasah Aliyah Batu is done through 3 aspects, among them: through the schools environment, and learning activities in the classroom and activities fostering learners (extracurricular). Evaluation of character education at Senior High School 1 Batu and Madrasah Aliyah Batu, done through an assessment score on the card of the code of conduct, assessment on students attitudes expressed in report cards.
