Rancang bangun aplikasi radio streaming berbasis android menggunakan QoS (Quality of Service): Studi kasus di Radio Al Umm FM

Perkembangan teknologi yang cepat membuat kebutuhan informasi menjadi lebih besar. Dengan memanfaatkan teknologi radio streaming dengan berbasis smartphone Android tentu lebih memaksimalkan dengan jangkauan luas tidak terbatas dengan radius sebagaimana radio terestrial. Sehingga penyebaran informasi menjadi lebih cepat dan luas. Namun komunikasi data dalam jaringan harus sesuai dengan standarisasi yang telah disepakati. Parameter yang meliputi adalah Delay, Jitter, throughput dan Packet Loss.

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk membangun aplikasi streaming radio berbasis Android menggunakan QoS (Quality of Service) untuk meningkatkan kualitas jaringan. Sehingga nilai parameter sesuai dengan standar internasional ITU-T (Telecommunication Standardization Sector of the International Telecommunications Union).

Hasil pengujian aplikasi menunjukkan bahwa kategori Delay yaitu Excellent dengan nilai Delay dibawah 150 ms, Kategori Jitter yaitu Good dengan nilai Jitter dibawah 20 ms, dan Kategori Packet loss yaitu Excellent dengan Packet Loss tidak lebih dari 1%. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kualitas aplikasi streaming radio memenuhi standar ITU-T.

Rapid technological developments make the information needs to be larger. By utilizing streaming radio technology with smartphones based on Android would be to maximize the wide range is not limited to a radius as the terrestrial radio. So that the spread of information more quickly and widely. But the data communication in the network must comply with standards that have been agreed. Parameter covering is Delay, Jitter, and Packet Loss throughput.

This research was conducted to develop Android-based radio streaming applications using QoS (Quality of Service) to improve network quality. So the parameter value in accordance with international standards ITU-T (Telecommunication Standardization Sector of the International Telecommunications Union).

The test results show that the application is Excellent the category Delay, with value below 150 ms, Category Jitter is Good with a value below 20 ms, and Category Packet loss is Excellent with no more than 1%. This indicates that the quality of streaming radio application meets the ITU-T standards.
