Studi sejarah warisan budaya koleksi buku peninggalan era kolonial Belanda di Perpustakaan Museum Brawijaya Malang

Perpustakaan Museum Brawijaya Malang merupakan perpustakaan khusus yang berada di bawah pengelolaan Museum Brawijaya. Salah satu koleksi unggulannya adalah buku-buku peninggalan era kolonial Belanda jumlahnya cukup banyak. Koleksi buku-buku ini merupakan warisan budaya masa kolonial, namun keberadaannya belum cukup terakses secara luas. Penelitian ini bertujuan menelusuri sejarah masuknya koleksi tersebut ke Perpustakaan Museum Brawijaya serta meninjau nilai historis yang terkandung di dalamnya. Koleksi ini sebagian besar berupa literatur militer berbahasa Belanda dan Inggris, yang merupakan warisan masa kolonial. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan historis melalui empat tahapan: heuristik, kritik sumber, interpretasi, dan historiografi. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara dengan Kepala Kalakjarah, Kepala Perpustakaan Museum Brawijaya, serta sejarawan, dan juga melalui observasi langsung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa koleksi tersebut adalah warisan budaya yang tidak lepas dari aspek sejarah yang diperoleh melalui proses penyerahan arsip pasca-Konferensi Meja Bundar (KMB) dan dipindahkan oleh tokoh militer seperti Letnan Satu R. Supono dan Letkol R. Sujono sebagai bagian dari pelestarian arsip sejarah pascakemerdekaan. Kendati terdapat kendala bahasa dan keterbatasan akses, koleksi ini telah digunakan oleh mahasiswa dan peneliti. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya pelestarian koleksi sebagai media edukatif dan penguat kesadaran sejarah.

The Brawijaya Museum Library in Malang is a special library under the management of the Brawijaya Museum. One of its superior collections is a large number of books from the Dutch colonial era. This collection of books is a cultural heritage of the colonial era, but its existence has not been widely accessible. This study aims to trace the history of the entry of the collection into the Brawijaya Museum Library and review the historical value contained therein. This collection is mostly military literature in Dutch and English, which is a legacy of the colonial era. The study used a qualitative method with a historical approach through four stages: heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. Data were obtained through interviews with the Head of Kalakjarah, the Head of the Brawijaya Museum Library, and historians, and also through direct observation. The results of the study indicate that the collection is a cultural heritage that is inseparable from the historical aspect obtained through the process of handing over archives after the Round Table Conference (RTC) and transferred by military figures such as First Lieutenant R. Supono and Lieutenant Colonel R. Sujono as part of the preservation of post-independence historical archives. Despite language barriers and limited access, this collection has been used by students and researchers. This finding confirms the importance of preserving collections as an educational medium and to strengthen historical awareness.
