Konsep toleransi beragama dalam QS Al-Mumtahanah ayat 8-9 perspektif teori Hermeneutika Jorge J.E Gracia

ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji konsep toleransi beragama dalam QS. Al-Mumtahanah ayat 8–9 dan mengaitkannya dengan teori hermeneutika Jorge J.E. Gracia. Ayat ini mengandung pesan penting terkait sikap umat Islam terhadap non-Muslim, khususnya dalam konteks hubungan sosial di tengah masyarakat yang plural. Permasalahan yang diangkat dalam penelitian ini berkaitan dengan sejauh mana Al-Qur’an memberikan ruang bagi hubungan sosial antarumat beragama, serta bagaimana teori hermeneutika Gracia dapat digunakan untuk memahami ayat tersebut secara lebih mendalam.
Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian kepustakaan (library research). Sumber data utama berasal dari ayat Al-Qur’an yang dikaji, sedangkan sumber data sekunder meliputi kitab-kitab tafsir, literatur hermeneutika, dan referensi pendukung lainnya. Analisis dilakukan dengan menerapkan tiga fungsi utama dalam teori hermeneutika Gracia, yaitu fungsi historis, fungsi makna, dan fungsi implikatif.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa melalui fungsi historis, ayat ini dipahami dalam konteks perjanjian damai dan hubungan antarumat beragama pada masa Nabi. Fungsi makna menekankan ajaran Islam tentang keadilan dan perlakuan baik terhadap non-Muslim yang tidak memusuhi. Sedangkan fungsi implikatif menunjukkan pentingnya penerapan nilai toleransi dalam kehidupan sosial masyarakat modern secara aktif dan bijaksana.

ABSTRACT

This study aims to examine the concept of religious tolerance in QS. Al-Mumtahanah verses 8–9 and relate it to the hermeneutic theory of Jorge J.E. Gracia. These verses convey essential messages regarding the attitude of Muslims toward non-Muslims, especially in the context of social relations within a plural society. The main issue explored in this research is how the Qur’an provides space for interreligious social interaction and how Gracia’s hermeneutic theory can be used to understand these verses more deeply.
This research employs a qualitative approach with a library research method. The primary data source is the Qur’anic verse itself, while secondary sources include classical and modern tafsir books, hermeneutic literature, and other relevant references. The analysis applies three main functions from Gracia’s hermeneutics: the historical function, the meaning function, and the implicative function.
The findings show that the historical function explains the verses in the context of peace treaties and interreligious relations during the Prophet’s time. The meaning function highlights Islamic values of justice and kindness toward non-hostile non-Muslims. Meanwhile, the implicative function emphasizes the relevance of these values for promoting tolerance and harmony in modern pluralistic societies.

تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تحليل مفهوم التسامح الديني في سورة الممتحنة الآيتين 8–9 وربطه بنظرية التأويل (الهرمينوطيقا) التي قدمها خورخي ج. إ. غراسيا. تحمل هاتان الآيتان رسائل مهمة تتعلق بموقف المسلمين من غير المسلمين، خاصةً في سياق العلاقات الاجتماعية داخل مجتمع متعدد الديانات. وتتمثل المشكلة الرئيسية في مدى إتاحة القرآن الكريم المجال للعلاقات الاجتماعية بين أتباع الديانات المختلفة، وكيف يمكن الاستفادة من نظرية غراسيا لفهم هاتين الآيتين بشكل أعمق.

تعتمد هذه الدراسة على منهج نوعي باستخدام أسلوب البحث المكتبي. وتتمثل المصادر الأساسية في نصوص القرآن الكريم، بينما تشمل المصادر الثانوية كتب التفسير القديمة والمعاصرة، وأدبيات التأويل، ومراجع أخرى ذات صلة. ويستند التحليل إلى ثلاث وظائف رئيسية في هرمينوطيقا غراسيا، وهي: الوظيفة التاريخية، وظيفة المعنى، والوظيفة التضمينية.

وتظهر نتائج البحث أن الوظيفة التاريخية توضح سياق نزول الآيتين في إطار معاهدات السلم والعلاقات بين الأديان في عهد النبي. وتؤكد وظيفة المعنى على قيم العدالة والإحسان تجاه غير المسلمين الذين لا يعادون المسلمين. بينما تشير الوظيفة التضمينية إلى أهمية تطبيق هذه القيم في تعزيز التسامح والتعايش السلمي في المجتمعات المتعددة الديانات في العصر الحديث.
