Formulasi, evaluasi dan uji stabilitas Hand and Body Lotion ekstrak kulit lemon california (Citrus limon L. Burm. f.) sebagai tabir surya

ABSTRAK

Kulit perlu diberi proteksi kimiawi dengan pemanfaatan produk tabir surya untuk menghindari efek yang tidak diinginkan dikarenakan kulit terpapar sinar matahari.
Pada tahun 2023, produktivitas jeruk lemon di Jawa Timur mencapai 3-4 ton. Hal ini menandakan bahwa permintaan pasar akan jeruk lemon cukup tinggi. Sekitar 70% dari berat buah akan dibuang menjadi limbah termasuk kulitnya. Kulit buah
Lemon California (Citrus limon (L.) Burm. f.) mengandung senyawa fenolik dan flavonoid yang berpotensi sebagai tabir surya. Oleh karena itu, pada penelitian ini akan dilakukan formulasi lotion ekstrak kulit lemon california dengan konsentrasi 3%, 5%, dan 7%. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi sifat fisik dan stabilitas sediaan lotion ekstrak kulit Lemon California dan mengetahui formula
mana yang memiliki hasil evaluasi sifat fisik dan uji stabilitas yang paling baik. Sampel diekstraksi menggunakan metode maserasi. Ekstrak kental diformulasikan kedalam sediaan lotion kemudian dilanjutkan dengan evaluasi sediaan dan stabilitas sediaan dengan metode cycling test. Hasil penelitian evaluasi sediaan menunjukkan lotion tabir surya ekstrak kulit lemon California memenuhi syarat pengujian
organoleptis, homogenitas, pH, daya sebar, daya lekat, dan viskositas. Kemudian dilakukan uji stabilitas dengan metode Cycling test. Hasil pengujian setelah dilakukan uji stabilitas menunjukkan bahwa F1 dan F2 menghasilkan lotion yang homogen, sedangkan untuk F3 tidak homogen, ber tekstur setengah padat, beraroma khas ekstrak, dan berwarna hijau muda (F1), hijau agak tua (F2), dan hijau tua (F3). Nilai pH berturut-turut 7,34; 6,78; 6,04. Nilai daya sebar (cm) 6,1; 6,6; 6,8. Nilai daya lekat (detik) 5,17; 4,45; 2,50. Nilai viskositas (cp) 7.990; 6.760; 2.550. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa lotion ekstrak kulit Lemon California memenuhi persyaratan evaluasi sifat fisik sediaan. Namun, Formula 2 dipilih sebagai formula yang terbaik karena memiliki nilai paling stabil dengan nilai perbandingan sebelum dan sesudah uji stabilitas paling kecil.

ABSTRACT

The skin needs to be given chemical protection by utilizing sunscreen products to avoid unwanted effects due to skin exposure to sunlight. In 2023, the productivity of lemon in East Java reached 3-4 tons. This indicates that the market demand for lemons is quite high. About 70% of the fruit weight will be thrown into waste including the peel. The peel of California lemon (Citrus limon (L.) Burm. f.)
contains phenolic and flavonoid compounds that have potential as sunscreens. This study aims to evaluate the physical properties and stability of California Lemon
peel extract lotion preparation. Samples were extracted using maceration method. The viscous extract was formulated into lotion preparations then continued with the
evaluation of the preparation and stability of the preparation. The results of the preparation evaluation study showed that California lemon peel extract sunscreen
lotion met the requirements of organoleptical testing, homogeneity, pH, spreadability, adhesiveness, and viscosity. Then the stability test was carried out with the Cycling test method. The test results after the stability test showed that F1 and F2 produced homogeneous lotions, while F3 was not homogeneous, had a semisolid texture, had a distinctive extract aroma, and was light green (F1), slightly dark green (F2), and dark green (F3). The pH value was 7,34; 6,78; 6,04, respectively. Spreadability values (cm) 6,1; 6,6; 6,8. Adhesion value (sec) 5,17; 4,45; 2,50.
Viscosity value (cp) 7,990; 6,760; 2,550. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the California Lemon peel extract lotion meets the requirements of the evaluation of the physical properties of the preparation. However, for the stability test F3 did not meet the physical stability requirements of the preparation.
Formula 2 was chosen as the best formula because it had the most stable value with the smallest comparison value before and after the stability test.
