Abstract

ABSTRACT

This study aims to determine the effect of adding water and biomass changes in glucose levels in banana’s hump Biomass through Solar Radiation Exposure, Microwave, and Acid Hydrolysis.

The method of this research is done by drying the kepok banana for 5 days, then homogenized by blending or grounding. After that, the third method is hydrolysis 0f the essence into glucose ( solar radiation exposure, microwaves, and acid hydrolysis) where in each treatment exposure, the samples are varied into three (dry, water addition of 10 ml, and the addition of 20 ml water). Each treatment is repeated as many as 3 (three) times. Glucose levels are analyzed by Nelson-Somogyi method and the results are compared by using graphs.

The results of this study are that there is effect of adding water and the method used for glucose levels. UV-Vis analysis results and a graph comparison show the good method which can be used to obtain glucose levels with a significant improvement is the use of microwave exposure and with the addition of 20 ml of water which produces glucose levels by 30.89%.
