This phenomenon was categorized as sociolinguistics issue and the case found in speech especially women‟s speech. Women‟s speeches which were selected to be investigated were from professional women who have significant position in their countries, such as Hillary Clinton, Christine Lagarde, and Hina Rabbani Khar. Then, the data were identified and analyzed based on the types of women‟s speech features based on Lakoff‟s theory. Furthermore, the selected data were analyzed based on the cultural aspect of the speaker.
The findings show that not all types of women‟s speech features were used by the three women politician in their speech. Hillary Clinton used six types of women‟s speech features, and Christine Lagarde and Hina Rabbani Khar used seven types of women‟s speech features. There were two features which were not used by them in their speech; they were precise of color terms and the absence of humor. Women tended to use those features as three functions, first is to use as hedging device to express uncertainty and lack of confidence, second was to use boosting device, meant women use such features to persuade their addressees to make the addressees considered the speech seriously, and the third was use as politeness device which indicated that women were expected to behave politely like a lady. In addition, the features used by the women reflected the cultural aspect of each woman deals with her cultural background.
