Abstract
INDONESIA :
ENGLISH :
Incision wound is a common thing that happens in many kinds of activities and it is a kind of type of common injury that happens in Indonesia after contusion. The red fruit oil (Pandanus conoideus Lamk.) consists of several active compounds such as α-carotene, α-carotene, β-cryptoxanthin, and β-tocopherol, and also unsaturated fatty acids that can accelerate wound healing. Red fruit oil was formulated in the form of emulgel because it was convenient to use, high penetration power, and stable in storage. The purpose of this research is to determine the MBM concentrate influence against the physical character and physical stability of MBM emulgel. Emulges is made of varieties concentrate MBM 5% b/v (F1), 10% b/v (F2), 15% b/v (F3) with carbomer basis combination and HMPC. Then a physical evaluation is occurred on the organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, spread ability, and adhesion. The prepared emulgel next being tested on physical stability including saving test on 28 days with room temperature (30°±2°C), cycling test for 6 cycles, and mechanical test. The results showed that the concentration of red fruit oil affected the physical properties and stability of the emulgel. The physical properties of the emulgels of the three formulas met the requirements of good topical preparation. It can be concluded that the greater the concentration of MBM, will affect the color of the preparation, pH, dispersion, and adhesion at the room temperature storage stability test. The results of the Cycling Test did not show any difference in organoleptic and phase separation, and after the mechanical test, there was no phase separation in all formulas.
