Perancangan Pusat Konservasi Mangrove di Pantai Clungup Kabupaten Malang dengan Pendekatan Ekologi Atsitektur

ABSTRACT

Indonesia has the largest expanse of mangrove forest in the world according to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) data, but since 1980-2005 there has been a decline in land area due to land clearing for fishponds and human exploitation which has reduced the quality and quantity of mangrove forests. The decline in mangrove forest area occurs in many coastal areas in Indonesia, one of which occurs on the clungup coast. Clungup Beach has experienced a decline in quality resulting from land conversion into ponds, over-exploitation, and natural influences such as abrasion. The result is damage to the coastal ecosystem that results from damage to mangrove forests. In addition, the destruction of mangrove forests also resulted in the abrasion of the sea not being handled properly which resulted in continued erosion of the shoreline. Therefore there is a need for mangrove forest conservation, mangrove conservation is an effort to preserve mangroves while still taking into account the benefits that can be obtained and still maintain the existence of each component of the environment, for future use. Therefore, mangrove conservation on Clungup beach is needed for handling mangrove damage with an ecological architecture approach which will later be used in the design process so as to find a conceptual formula that can maximize mangrove conservation on Clungup beach.

ABSTRAK

Indonesia memiliki hamparan hutan mangrove terbesar di dunia menurut data Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), namun sejak tahun 1980-2005 terjadi penurunan luasan lahan yang terjadi akibat dari pembukaan lahan untuk tambak maupun eksploitasi alam yang dilakukan manusia menyebabkan kualitas dan kuantitas hutan mangrove berkurang. Menurunnya luasan hutan mangrove terjadi di banyak kawasan pantai di Indonesia, salah satu nya terjadi di pantai clungup. Pantai Clungup mengalami penurunan kualitas yang diakibatkan dari alih fungsi lahan menjadi tambak, eksploitasi berlebihan, maupun pengaruh alam seperti abrasi. Akibatnya terjadi kerusakan ekosistem pantai yang terjadi akibat dari rusaknya hutan mangrove. Selain itu rusaknya hutan mangrove juga mengakibatkan abrasi laut tidak tertangani dengan baik yang mengakibatkan terus tergerusnya bibir pantai. Oleh sebab itu perlu adanya konservasi hutan mangrove, Konservasi mangrove adalah upaya pelestarian mangrove dengan tetap memperhatikan manfaat yang dapat diperoleh dan tetap mempertahankan keberadaan setiap komponen lingkungan, untuk pemanfaatan di masa depan. Oleh karna itu konservasi mangrove di pantai Clungup diperlukan untuk penanganan kerusakan mangrove dengan pendekatan arsitektur ekologi yang nantinya digunakan dalam proses merancang sehingga menemukan rumusan konsep yang dapat memaksimalkan konservasi mangrove di pantai Clungup.
