Abstract
INDONESIA:
Pendidikan karakter merupakan sesuat hal yang sangat penting di era globalisasi, adanya penurunan moral pada siswa mengharuskan adanya suatu pendidikan yang mengajarkan karakter yang baik sejak dini. Selain diajarkan tetapi juga harus diterapkan dan dioptimalkan agar tetap ada di lingkungan sekolah.
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk (1) mendeskripsikan upaya guru dalam mengajarkan mata pelajaran IPS melalui karakter peduli sosial di kelas VII idaman SMP An-Nur Bululawang, (2) mendeskripsikan siswa kelas VII Idaman SMP An-Nur Bululawang dalam menerapkan pendidikan karakter peduli sosial tolong menolong dalam kesehariannya, (3) mendeskripsikan kendala dalam optimalisasi pendidikan karakter peduli sosial tolong menolong kepada siswa kelas VII idaman SMP An-Nur Bululawang.
Untuk mencapai tujuan diatas, pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan deskriptif yaitu peneliti mendeskripsikan upaya mengajar yang dilakukan oleh guru, penerapan pendidikan karakter peduli sosial di kehidupan sehari-hari dan kendala dalam menerapkan pendidikan karakter peduli sosial. Hal itu diperoleh dengan metode wawancra, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Instrument kunci adalah peneliti sendiri sekaligus pengumpulan data yang selanjutnya data akan dideskripsikan. Data dianalisis dengan mereduksi data yang tidak relevan, menyajikan data, dan menarik kesimpulan.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, (1) Upaya guru dalam mengajarkan pendidikan karakter peduli sosial melalui pembiasaan tolong menolong di kelas VII KI3 dengan cara persuasive dengan memebrikan nasehat dan motivvasi, (2) penerapan pendidikan karakter peduli sosial melalui pembiasan tolong menolong diintegrasikan dalam program pengembangan diri dan pengembangann budaya sekolah, (3) Hambatan dan solusi untuk penerapan pendidikan karakter peduli sosial melalui pembiasaan tolong menolong seperti siswa masih dalam proses beradaptasi dengan lingkungan yang baru baik di sekolah maupun di pondok dan solusinya dengan cara lebih membaur dengan teman-teman dan lingkungan.
ENGLISH:
Character education is very important thing in this globalization era. Because There are some immoral students that requires to make an education to teach good character early on. Besides being taught, it must also be applied and optimized so that it remains in the school environment.
The aim of this study was to (1) describe the teacher’s effort while teach social studies subject through social awareness characters in VII grade superior class of An-Nur Bululawang Middle School, (2) describe the students of VII grade superior class of An-Nur Bululawang Middle School in implementing social awareness of character education in their daily lives, (3) describe the obstacles in optimizing social awareness of character education.
This research used descriptive approach which is the researcher describes the teacher’s effort, the application of social awareness of character education in daily life and the obstacles to apply social awareness of character education. This was obtained of interview, observation, and documentation method. The key instrument is the researcher himself. The researcher also do collecting the data and then the data will be described. Data were analyzed by reduce irrelevant data, present the data, and draw conclusions.
The results showed that, (1) Teachers' efforts in teaching social awareness character education through habit social awareness in VII grade superior class by persuasive way which is giving advice and motivation, (2) the application of social awareness of character education through refraction that integrated in a personal development program and the development of school habit, (3) Obstacle and solutions for the application of social awareness of character education through habituation to help students are still process of adapting the new environment at public school and boarding school. The last solution is the students could be more associate with friends and environment.
