Abstract
ABSTRACT
This research aims to know the relation between self identity status and celebrity worship. In this research, self identity statuses are diffuse, foreclosure, moratorium, and achievement. There are three levels of self identity status. They are entertainment social, intense personal, and borderline pathological. However, the subject of this research is 85 people which are late teenagers of Korean pop fans in Malang city. The method that is used in this research is purposive sampling. Furthermore, the method of data collection is scale. The scale refers to the scale of identity status and celebrity worship.
Based on the research, the result is: 34,1 % of the teenagers have diffuse, 25,9% have foreclosure, 14,1 % have moratorium, and 25,9 % of them are achievement. Then, the level of celebrity worship entertainment social is 32,9%, intense personal is 25,9%, borderline pathological is 41,2%. However, the result of hypothesis testing is there is correlation between diffuse identity status and the level pathological borderline with the significance level of 0,032. Furthermore, there is the strong correlation between foreclosure identity status and pathological borderline with the significance level of 0, 009. For the correlation between motarium identity status and intense-personal with the significance level of 0,036. In addition, the correlation between achievement identity status and intense-personal is also strong, with the significance level of 0,044. This result shoes that the hypothesis of research is accepted.
ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara status identitas diri dengan celebrity worship. Status identitas diri pada penelitian ini terdiri dari status identitas diffuse, foreclosure, moratorium, dan achievement. kemudian tingkatan celebrity worship pada penelitian ini terdiri dari tiga tingkatan yaitu entertainment social, intense personal, dan borderline pathological. Subjek pada penelitian ini berjumlah 85 orang yang merupakan remaja akhir penggemar Korean Pop di Kota Malang dengan menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah berbentuk skala. Skala penelitian ini terdiri dari skala status identitas dan celebrity worship.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian didapatkan hasil sebagai berikut: status identitas diffuse 34,1%, status identitas foreclosure 25,9%, status identitas moratorium 14,1%, dan status identitas achievement 25,9%. Kemudian tingkatan celebrity worship entertainment social 32,9%, intense personal 25,9%, borderline pathological 41,2%. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan pada status identitas diffuse terdapat korelasi dengan tingkat borderline pathological dengan nilai Sig sebesar 0,032. Pada status identitas foreclosure terdapat korelasi paling kuat dengan tingkat borderline pathological dengan nilai Sig sebesar 0,009. Pada status identitas moratorium terdapat korelasi paling kuat dengan tingkat intense personal dengan nilai Sig sebesar 0,036. Pada status identitas achievement terdapat korelasi paling dengan tingkat intense personal dengan nilai Sig sebesar 0,044. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis penelitian diterima.
