Abstract
INDONESIA :
Senyawa basa Schiff merupakan produk reaksi antara senyawa karbonil dengan senyawa amina primer dalam suasana asam. Berdasarkan beberapa penelitian, senyawa tersebut memiliki aktivitas sebagai inhibitor korosi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui volume katalis asam alami terbaik dalam sintesis senyawa basa Schiff 2-metoksi-4-((fenilimino)metil)fenol menggunakan metode penggerusan, karakteristik produk sintesis dan aktivitasnya sebagai inhibor korosi. Senyawa basa Schiff disintesis dari vanilin (5 mmol) dan anilina (5 mmol) menggunakan katalis asam alami dari buah belimbing wuluh (Averrhoa Blimbi L.) dengan variasi volume 0; 0,25; 0,5; dan 1 mL dan digerus selama 10 menit. Senyawa hasil sintesis dikarakterisasi sifat fisiknya. Karakterisasi lebih lanjut meliputi spektrofotometer UV-Vis, spektrofotometer FTIR (Fourrier Transform Infra Red) dan kromatografi gas-spektroskopi massa (KG-SM). Uji efisiensi inhibisi korosi pada logam besi dilakukan dalam media HCl 1M.
Senyawa hasil sintesis berupa padatan bewarna putih kekuningan, sedikit larut dalam air, dan memiliki titik lebur 149-151C. Rendemen dengan variari volume 0; 0,25; 0,5; dan 1 mL berturut adalah 1,1035; 1,0689; 1,0535 dan 1,0220 gr. Senyawa hasil sintesis memiliki maks 283-284 dan 325-330 nm. Senyawa ini memiliki ikatan imina (-C=N-) yang tebaca pada bilangan gelombang 1584,909-1585,974 cm-1. Karektirasi KG-SM produk dengan 0 mL katalis menunjukkan puncak pada waktu retensi 24,173 menit dengan nilai m/z 227 yang sesuai dengan berat molekul senyawa basa Schiff 2-metoksi-4-((fenilimino)metil)fenol. Efisiensi inhibisi senyawa tersebut berkisar 39,38-77,40%.
ENGLISH :
Schiff base compound was a product between carbonyl and primary amine compounds in acidic condotion. Based on several studies, the compound had activity as corrosion inhibitor. The purpose of this research was determined the optimum volume of natural acid catalyst in synthesis of Schiff base compound 2-methoxy-4-((phenylimino) methyl)phenol using grinding method, characteristic its product and its activity as corrosion inhibitor. Schiff base compounds were synthesized from vanillin (5 mmol) and aniline (5 mmol) using natural acid catalysts from belimbing wuluh (Averrhoa Blimbi L.) with volume variations 0; 0.25; 0.5; and 1 mL and grinded for 10 minutes. The synthesized compound was characterized its physical properties. Further characterization included a UV-Vis spectrophotometer, FTIR spectrophotometer (Fourrier Transform Infra Red) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometer (GC-MS). The corrosion inhibition efficiency on metals was carried out in HCl 1M.
Synthesized compounds were yellowish-white solids, slightly soluble in water, and had melting point at 149-151C. The yield with volume variations 0; 0.25; 0.5; and 1 mL in a row were 1,1035; 1,0689; 1,0535 and 1,0220 gr The synthesized compound had maks 283-284 and 325-330 nm. This compound had an imine bond (-C=N-) with wavenumber 1584.909-1585,974 cm-1. The product with a 0 mL catalyst were characterized by GC-MS showed a peak at with retention time 24,173 minutes and m/z 227. It had similarity with molecular weight of the 2-methoxy-4-((phenylimino)methyl)phenol compound. The inhibition efficiency of these compounds were 39.38 to 77.40%.
