Abstract
INDONESIA :
TiO2 memiliki 3 fasa, yakni: anatas, rutil dan brukit. Pencampuran antara fasa anatas dan rutil diketahui dapat menurunkan energi band gap sehingga dapat meningkatkan aktivitas fotokatalitik lebih baik daripada anatas murni. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mensintesis TiO2 variasi komposisi anatas:rutil (100:0, 90:10, 85:15, 80:20, 75:25, dan 0:100) dengan metode sonikasi serta dilakukan uji aktivitas dengan bantuan sinar UV untuk mendegradasi metilen biru.
Fotokatalis TiO2 variasi komposisi anatas:rutil (100:0, 90:10, 85:15, 80:20, 75:25, dan 0:100) berhasil disintesis dengan metode sonikasi dengan bahan awal titanium tetraisopropoksida (TTIP). Hasil sintesis dikarakterisasi dengan X-Ray Difraction (XRD), UV-Vis Diffuse Reflectance Spectroscopy (DRS), sedan
gkan untuk uji aktivitas digunakan sinar yang berasal dari lampu UV blacklight.
Hasil karakterisasi XRD menunjukkan bahwa TiO2 hasil sintesis memiliki struktur anatas dan rutil dengan grup ruang I41/amd dan P42/mnm. Berdasarkan hasil karakterisasi UV-Vis DRS diketahui energi band gap dari TiO2 anatas:rutil (100:0, 90:10, 85:15, 80:20, 75:25, dan 0:100) berturut-turut adalah 3,02; 2,91; 2,90; 2,90; 2,89; dan 2,86 eV. Hasil uji aktivitas dengan bantuan sinar UV menunjukkan katalis TiO2 A/R 85:15 memiliki aktivitas paling baik dibanding komposisi lainnya karena mampu mendegradasi metilen biru sebesar 85,66% selama 120 menit.
ENGLISH :
TiO2 has 3 phases, known as: anatase, rutile and brookite. The mixture between the anatase and rutile phases was known to reduce band gap energy so it could improve photocatalytic activity better than single phases. The aim of this study was synthesized TiO2 in the composition variation of anatas: rutile (100:0, 90:10, 85:15, 80:20, 75:25, and 0:100) by sonication method and tested the activity with the help of UV light to degrade methylene blue.
TiO2 photocatalysts in anatase: rutile composition (100:0, 90:10, 85:15, 80:20, 75:25, and 0:100) were successfully synthesized by sonication method with titanium tetraisopropoxide (TTIP) starting material. The synthesis results were characterized by X-Ray Difraction (XRD), UV-Vis Diffuse Reflectance Spectroscopy (DRS). Whereas for its activity test, light from the blacklight UV lamp was used.
The results of XRD characterization showed the synthesized TiO2 had anatase and rutile structures with space groups I41/amd and P42/mnm. Based on the results of the DRS UV-Vis characterization, it is known that the band gap energy of the upper TiO2 anatase: rutile (100:0, 90:10, 85:15, 80:20, 75:25, and 0:100) respectively are 3.02, 2.91, 2.90, 2.90, 2.89, and 2.86 eV. The results of activity test with UV irradiation showed that TiO2 A/R 85:15 had the best activity compared to other compositions because it was able to degrade methylene blue by 85.66% for 120 minutes.
