Abstract

INDONESIA:

Perkembangan sektor pertanian menghadapi berbagai tantangan akibat degradasi lingkungan, perubahan iklim, serta meningkatnya kebutuhan terhadap inovasi teknologi yang mampu mendukung produktivitas secara berkelanjutan. Kota Batu sebagai salah satu wilayah dengan potensi pertanian yang tinggi memerlukan fasilitas penelitian yang mampu mengintegrasikan kegiatan riset, edukasi, dan pengembangan teknologi pertanian dalam satu kawasan terpadu. Oleh karena itu, dirancang Green Agricultural Biotechnology Research Laboratory sebagai fasilitas riset yang berorientasi pada pelestarian lingkungan sekaligus mendukung pengembangan bioteknologi pertanian. Perancangan ini bertujuan mewujudkan fasilitas penelitian yang mampu mengakomodasi kebutuhan laboratorium modern dengan tetap mempertahankan karakter ekologis kawasan. Pendekatan arsitektur berkelanjutan diterapkan melalui pengolahan tapak, bentuk bangunan, ruang, struktur, dan utilitas yang saling terintegrasi dengan kondisi alam setempat. Analisis dilakukan terhadap kondisi tapak, orientasi matahari, arah angin, topografi, aksesibilitas, serta kebutuhan fungsional laboratorium sebagai dasar dalam penyusunan konsep perancangan. Hasil perancangan menunjukkan bahwa kawasan penelitian dirancang sebagai living green laboratory yang menghubungkan aktivitas riset dengan lanskap pertanian melalui sistem ruang yang adaptif dan berkelanjutan. Massa bangunan dikembangkan berdasarkan respon terhadap iklim dan kondisi tapak untuk meningkatkan efisiensi energi serta kenyamanan pengguna. Pengolahan ruang luar dilakukan melalui penyediaan bio-boulevard, area konservasi, ruang edukasi, greenhouse, serta lahan demonstrasi pertanian yang mendukung aktivitas penelitian dan pembelajaran. Sistem struktur menggunakan baja prefabrikasi yang fleksibel, sedangkan utilitas dirancang dengan prinsip efisiensi melalui pemanfaatan energi terbarukan, pengelolaan air hujan, sistem drainase berkelanjutan, dan pengolahan limbah terpadu. Melalui penerapan konsep tersebut, Green Agricultural Biotechnology Research Laboratory diharapkan mampu menjadi pusat penelitian pertanian yang tidak hanya menghasilkan inovasi teknologi, tetapi juga menjadi media edukasi dan pelestarian lingkungan sehingga berkontribusi dalam menjaga marwah alam Kota Batu secara berkelanjutan.

The development of the agricultural sector faces various challenges due to environmental degradation, climate change, and the increasing demand for technological innovation that can support sustainable productivity. Batu City, as one of the regions with high agricultural potential, requires a research facility that is capable of integrating research activities, education, and agricultural technology development within a single integrated area. Therefore, the Green Agricultural Biotechnology Research Laboratory is designed as a research facility that is oriented toward environmental conservation while also supporting the development of agricultural biotechnology. This design aims to create a research facility that can accommodate the needs of a modern laboratory while maintaining the ecological character of the site. A sustainable architectural approach is applied through the treatment of the site, building form, spatial organization, structure, and utilities, all of which are integrated with local natural conditions. The analysis considers site conditions, sun orientation, wind direction, topography, accessibility, and laboratory functional requirements as the basis for developing the design concept. The design results show that the research area is conceived as a living green laboratory that connects research activities with the agricultural landscape through an adaptive and sustainable spatial system. The building mass is developed in response to climatic and site conditions to improve energy efficiency and user comfort. Outdoor spatial planning is realized through the provision of a bioboulevard, conservation areas, educational spaces, greenhouses, and agricultural demonstration fields that support research and learning activities. The structural system uses flexible prefabricated steel, while utilities are designed based on efficiency principles through the utilization of renewable energy, rainwater harvesting, sustainable drainage systems, and integrated waste treatment. Through the application of this concept, the Green Agricultural Biotechnology Research Laboratory is expected to become an agricultural research center that not only produces technological innovation but also serves as an educational medium and environmental conservation space, thereby contributing to the sustainable preservation of the natural integrity of Batu City.
