Abstract
INDONESIA:
ENGLISH:
The Biting site is a relic of the Lamajang Tigang Juru Kingdom located in the hamlet Biting Sukodono Subdistrict Lumajang. Allegedly, in the Biting site, there is the largest fort inherited Majapahit era around the capital of the Lamajang Kingdom. The geomagnetic survey was conducted to estimate the subsurface structure of Biting site around the bastion 1 and 2 of the block Randu. Data acquisition was used Proton Precession Magnetometer (PPM). Furthermore, the grid was measured in each 2.5 meters on the bastion 1 & 2 successively of 45 m x 35 m and 50 m x 55 m. Data processing was begun with IGRF correction then daily correction to obtain total magnetic field anomaly. In addition, qualitative and quantitative interpretation were used Surfer12, Magpick, and Mag2DC software. Based on qualitative interpretation, magnetic anomalies were found in the bastion 1 area extended from the middle of the studied area to the southwest. These anomalies formed a straight line and it might be out of the studied area. On the other side, In the bastion 2 was extended from the southwest to the northeast of the studied area. Furthermore, based on quantitative interpretation, it was obtained rocks with negative susceptibility values which interpreted as the bricks of the fort building. In the bastion 1, the rocks were at a depth of 3 meters and a length of 28 meters. While in the bastion 2 it was obtained in a depth of 2.8 meters and a length of 70 meters.
