ENGLISH:
Pasuruan City, the largest furniture producer in East Java, has experienced a decrease in revenue percentage over the past five years. It poses a threat to the economic growth of Pasuruan City. Therefore, there is a need for improvement in the furniture industry, both in the production and marketing aspects. This situation corresponds with the Pasuruan City Government's plan to develop infrastructure and enhance the quality of human resources. The following issues provide development potential for a creative hub that accommodates the activities of the furniture industry community and small creative industries engaged in woodworking in Pasuruan City. The design of the OKAYU Creative Hub includes woodworking facilities, co-workshops, woodworking training classes, recycling facilities, and upcycling of wood waste and used furniture, and the arboretum as an artificial forest intended for the preservation and research of wood plants. The design adopts a "Focus on Material" approach, where the design emphasizes the characteristics of the furniture industry area in Pasuruan City by showcasing wood as the prominent material that generates designs following the area context and represents the characteristics of the furniture industry in Pasuruan City. The building design considers all aspects of universal design to accommodate all users, including people with disabilities.
