Abstract

Knowledge is an inevitability that has to be experienced by every human being to become a helpful person and stays happy for now and for the hereafter. Every education government definitely has a leader or a headmaster, the role of a headmaster is very important to realize a qualified school and every component inside, including the teachers and the students. 4 competences that has to be owned by a teacher, therefore: pedagogic competence, professional competence, personality competence and also social competence. And to build a teacher with a good character cannot be separated from two competence, which is personality competence and social competence. A good teacher can produce good graduates, graduates that will be helpful for religion, and homeland.

The purpose of this research is for: (1) to describe the role of a headmaster in increasing personality competence and social competence of teachers in SMK Ma’arif NU 04 Pakis Malang (2) to describe the activities that is being done to increase personality competence and social competence of teachers in SMK Ma’arif NU 04 Pakis Malang (3) to describe the supporters factors and resistor factors in implementation the activities and in increasing personality competence and social competence of teachers in SMK Ma’arif NU 04 Pakis Malang.

To reach the goals above, they use the approaching qualified descriptive research, and the technique to collect the data that is used is observation, interviews and documentary. Data that has been analysed by reducing the data that is now relevant. to explain the data and a conclusion.

The research result shows that: (1) The role of a headmaster in increasing personality competence and social teacher in SMK Ma’arif NU 04 Pakis Malang as a leader, an educator, a manager, and a motivator (2) The activities that is being done to increase personality competence and social teacher in SMK Ma’arif NU 04 Pakis Malang such as Dhuha prayer and Dzuhur prayer, weekly like tahlil, istighatsah and sholawat, monthly activities such as tasbih prayer, and yearly activity such as praying together for the national exam, istighatsah akbar, ziarah wali, giving qurban meat every idul adha, giving food to the village people every idul fitri. (3). The supporters factors in doing activities there are good role models from the headmaster, teacher awareness for responsibility, infrastructure, teacher compactness, supports from the residents and the environment, and the school Islamic value to become a mandate for together. There are the resistor factors: not on time, and the busy activity teaching outside the SMK.
