Abstract
ABSTRAK
Delima hitam (Punica granatum L.) merupakan salah satu spesies tanaman dari famili Punicaceae yang tinggi akan kandungan fitokimia yang baik untuk kesehatan. Selain memiliki kandungan senyawa yang tinggi, delima hitam juga memiliki khasiat diberbagai bidang, baik industri minuman, kesehatan, kosmetik, atau sebagai tanaman hias, namun ketersediaan tanaman delima hitam masih sangat terbatas dan langka. Perbanyakan tanaman delima hitam yang susah menjadi penyebab utamanya. Delima hitam mengalami dormansi fisik berupa lapisan kulit biji yang keras dan memiliki kandungan hormon inhibitor. Salah satu cara yang dapat dilakukan untuk mematahkan dormansi biji delima hitam yaitu dengan skarifikasi mekanik menggunakan Gelombang Ultrasonik dan GA3.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh lama pemaparan gelombang ultrasonik, pengaruh konsentrasi GA3, dan pengaruh interaksi lama pemaparan gelombang ultrasonik dan konsentrasi GA3 terhadap perkecambahan biji delima hitam (Punica granatum L.). Penelitian ini bersifat ekperimental, menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 20 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan dalam penelitian ini terdiri atas dua faktor, yakni: lama pemaparan gelombang ultrasonik selama 0 menit (p0), 10 menit (p1), 20 menit (p2), 30 menit (p3), 40 menit (p4) dan pemberian beberapa konsentrasi GA3 dengan besar konsentrasi 0 ppm (k0), 200 ppm (k1), 300 ppm (k2), 400 ppm (k3). Analisis data hasil pengamatan menggunakan Analysis of Varian (ANAVA) ganda. Apabila perlakuan menunjukkan pengaruh nyata, maka dilanjutkan dengan Uji Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) bertaraf 5%. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan perlakuan lama pemaparan gelombang ultrasonik dan konsentrasi GA3 mampu mempecepat waktu berkecambah biji delima hitam (Punica granatum L.) dan meningkatkan panjang akar. Interaksi terbaik untuk pematahan dormansi biji dan meningkatkan viabilitas kecambah terdapat pada lama pemaparan 20 menit serta konsentrasi 300 ppm.
ABSTRACT
Black pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) is one of plant species from the Pinaceae familywhich is high in phytochemicals, this species very popular because it good ingredients for health. While,it has a high compound content, black pomegranate also has benefits in various fields, including in the beverage industry sector, health, cosmetics, or as an ornamental plant. However, the availability of black pomegranate plants is still very limited and rare, it is because the difficulties on propagation of the black pomegranate plant is the main cause. Black pomegranate changes physical dormancy which makesthe form of a hard seed coat and contains inhibitory hormones. The solution for this problem of black pomegranate seeds is by mechanical scarification using Ultrasonic Waves and GA3.
in this case, the researcher has several purposes, those are: to determine the effect of length of exposure to ultrasonic waves, the effect of concentration of GA3, and the interaction which effectedduration of exposure to ultrasonic waves and concentration of GA3 on the germination of black pomegranate seeds (Punica granatum L.). in addition, the method of the studyis using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 20 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments consisted of two factors, namely: duration of exposure to ultrasonic waves for 0 minutes (p0), 10 minutes (p1), 20 minutes (p2), 30 minutes (p3), 40 minutes (p4) and administration of several concentrations of GA3 with concentrations of 0 ppm (k0), 200 ppm (k1), 300 ppm (k2), 400 ppm (k3). This Research analysis of observing data using multiple Analysis of Variance (ANAVA). If the treatment shows a significant effect, then it is continued with the 5% Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). Furthermore, the results of this study represented that prolonged exposure to ultrasonic waves and concentration of GA3 accelerated the germination time of black pomegranate seeds (Punica granatum L.) and it increased root length of black pomegranate. The best interaction for breaking or reducing seed dormancy and increasing germination viability was found at 20 minutes of exposure and at a concentration of 300 ppm.
