Abstract
INDONESIA:
Moist wound healing merupakan metode perawatan luka dengan mengisolasi daerah sekitar luka supaya tetap lembab menggunakan balutan penahan kelembaban. Pada penelitian ini telah dibuat campuran polivinil alcohol(PVA)-alginat dan perasan daun binahong sebagai wound dressing. Pembuatan sampel dilakukan dengan cara melarutkan polivinil alkohol dan alginat kedalam aquades. Ditambahkan perasan daun binahong dengan variasi 100:0, 90:10, 80:20, 70:30, 60:40, 50:50 (v/v%) dan dikeringkan. Campuran polivinil alkohol-alginat dan perasan daun binahong yang terbentuk dikarakterisasi menggunakan uji FT-IR, uji sifat mekanik, dan uji antibakteri. Hasil uji FTIR menunjukkan terbentuknya ikatan antara polivinil alkohol-alginat dan perasan daun binahong yang dapat ditunjukkan oleh terbentuknya gugus hidroksil dan asam karboksilat pada bilangan gelombang 3539.5 cm-1 dan 2361.04 cm-1. Hasil uji sifat mekanik menunjukkan penambahan perasan daun binahong meningkatkan nilai modulus young serta memperkuat sifat ketahanan terhadap air. Nilai modulus young terbesar yakni 22.62 MPa pada konsentrasi perasan daun binahong 50%. Hasil uji antibakteri penambahan perasan daun binahong memperbesar rata-rata diameter daya hambat bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Nilai rata-rata diameter daya hambat bakteri terbesar yakni 6.75 mm yakni pada variasi perasan daun binahong 50%.
ENGLISH:
Moist wound healing is a method of wound treatment by isolating the area around the wound to remain moist using a bandage retaining moisture. This study has been made mixture of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) -alginat and binahong leaf juice as a wound dressing. Sample preparation is done by dissolving polyvinyl alcohol and alginate into distilled water. Added binahong leaf juice with a variation of 100: 0, 90:10, 80:20, 70:30, 60:40, 50:50 (v/v%) and dried. polyvinyl alcohol-alginate and juice leaves formed binahong characterized using FT-IR test, test the mechanical properties and antibacterial test. FTIR test results indicate the formation of bonds between the alginate and polyvinyl alcohol-leaf juice binahong which can be shown by the formation of hydroxyl and carboxylic acid in wave numbers 3539.5 cm-1 and 2361.04 cm-1. Mechanical properties test results showed the addition of juice of the leaves binahong increase the value of Young's modulus as well as strengthen the resistance properties of the water. The Young's modulus value that is 22.62 MPa at a concentration of 50% binahong leaf juice. Antibacterial test results binahong enlarge the addition of juice leaves the average diameter of the inhibition of the bacteria Staphylococcus aureus. The average value of the diameter of the inhibition of bacteria that is 6.75 mm which is the largest in the variation of leaf juice binahong 50%.
