Rancang bangun sistem penilaian penerbitan buku di UIN-Maliki Press

Dalam proses menerbitkan suatu naskah buku harus melalui beberapa tahap, salah satu tahap yang paling penting adalah proses penilaian. Penilaian yang dilakukan oleh pihak UIN-Maliki Press masih menggunakan penilaian bersifat konvensional dimana para pihak yang berperan dalam memberikan nilai harus datang ke penerbitan untuk mengambil form penilaian naskah buku.

Penilaian adalah suatu pekerjaan memberi nilai terhadap suatu obyek berdasarkan pedoman yang telah ditentukan dan data yang ada untuk menghasilkan sebuah keputusan. Ada beberapa faktor penilaian di UIN-Maliki Press yang harus diperhatikan yaitu (1) keorisinalan naskah, (2) isi naskah, (3) nilai guna keilmuan, (4) korelasi antara judul dan bab isi, (5) keutuhan atau komprehensif kajian, dan (6) sasaran pembaca.

Maka dari itu, perlu suatu inovasi untuk membuat sistem penilaian. Sistem yang dibangun harus mampu memudahkan kinerja para reviewer, penulis dan administrator, khususnya dalam proses penilaian penerbitan buku. Peneliti mengusulkan tentang sistem penilaian penerbitan buku. Sistem ini bertujuan untuk memudahkan para reviewer dalam menilai naskah buku yang masuk, memudahkan penulis pada proses pengajuan naskah buku, memudahkan administrator dalam proses pemilihan reviewer sehingga pihak penerbitan akan mudah dan cepat memutuskan naskah buku apakah layak untuk diterbitkan atau tidak.

Berdasarkan hasil uji coba yang telah peneliti lakukan, sistem penilaian penerbitan naskah buku ini akan diterapkan di penerbitan UIN-Maliki Press. Karena dengan sistem ini pegawai UIN-Maliki Press dapat dengan mudah dan praktis pada proses penilaian penerbitan buku.

In the process of publishing a book manuscript it should be through several stages, one of the most important stages is an assessment process. The assessment conducted by UIN-Maliki Press still uses conventional assessment in which the board of reviewers involved in providing score has to come to the publishing office to pick up the manuscript assessment form.

Assessment is a job to give the score of an object based on predetermined guidelines and existing data to produce a decision. There are several factors of the assessment that should be paid attention at UIN Maliki Press, they are (1) the originality of manuscript, (2) the content of manuscript, (3) the value to science, (4) the correlation between the title and content chapter, (5) the integrity or comprehensive study, and (6) the target of readers.

Therefore, it is essential to create an innovation of the design of assessment system. The system built has to be able to facilitate the performance of the reviewers, authors and administrators, particularly in the assessment process of book publishing. The researcher proposes on an assessment system of book publishing. This system aims to facilitate the reviewers in assessing incoming book manuscripts, the authors in the process of manuscript submission, the administrators in the process of selecting reviewers so that the publisher easily and quickly determines whether the manuscript is appropriate to publish or not.

Based on the results of trials that have been conducted by the researcher, the assessment system of book manuscript publishing will be applied at UIN-Maliki Press. Because of this system, the employees of UIN-Maliki Press can be easily and practically in the assessment process of book publishing.
