Abstract

INDONESIA:

Bandura (1994) menjelaskan bahwa Self-efficacy adalah bentuk kepercayaan yang dimiliki seseorang terhadap kapabilitas masing-masing untuk meningkatkan prestasi kehidupanya. Self-efficacy dapat berupa bagaimana perasaan seseorang, cara berfikir, motivasi diri, dan keinginan memiliki terhadap sesuatu. Orang dengan self-efficacy tinggi mampu mendekati tugas sulit sebagai tantangan yang harus dikuasai bukan sebagai ancaman yang harus dihindari dan sebaliknya, orang dengan self-efficacy rendah meragukan kemampuan mereka menghindar dari tugas-tugas sulit dan menganggap tugas-tugas sulit sebagai ancaman pribadi. Self-efficacy sangat penting bagi setiap individu begitu pula pada mahasiswa, karena self-efficacy mendorong usaha lebih keras dalam mengatasi semua kesulitan dan membuat semua yang mustahil menjadi mungkin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) tingkat self-efficacy mahasiswa fakultas psikologi (2) tingkat self-efficacy mahasiswa fakultas sains dan teknologi- jurusan TI (3) perbedaan tingkat self-efficacy mahasiswa fakultas psikologi dan sains dan teknologi-jurusan TI

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan metode komparasi. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa fakultas psikologi angkatan 2009 yang berjumlah 42 mahasiswa dan mahasiswa fakultas sains dan teknologi-jurusan TI angkatan 2009 yg berjumlah 52 mahasiswa. teknik sampling yang di gunakan adalah purposive sampling instrumen dalam penelitian ini menggunakan angket self-efficacy. Untuk pengujian validitasnya menggunakan rumus Product Moment dan untuk menguji reliabilitasnya menggunakan rumus Alpha Cronbach’s dengan bantuan program spss 16 for windows.

Berdasarkan hasil penelitian di dapatkan bahwa tingkat self-efficacy mahasiswa fakultas Psikologi dan mahasiswa fakultas Sains dan Teknologi- Jurusan TI pada kategori sedang dengan prosentase 61,9% untuk psikologi, serta 76,9% untuk Sains dan Teknologi-jurusan TI, Berdasarkan hasil analisa data yang menggunakan rumus uji-t, didapatkan t = 613 df= 92, nilai F = 2,275 sign (p) = 0,135 dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05. Maka H0: diterima dan Ha: ditolak, artinya hipotesis dalam penelitian ini ditolak maksudnya adalah tidak ada perbedaan tingkat self-efficacy antara mahasiswa fakultas Psikologi dan Sains dan Teknologi-jurusan TI angkatan 2009 UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang.

ENGLISH:

Bandura (1994) explained that Self-efficacy is the confidence or belief belongs to people on their capabilities to improve the quality of life. Self-efficacy can be a person's feelings, ways of thinking, self motivation and the desire of belonging to something. People with high self-efficacy are able to approach difficult tasks as challenges to be mastered rather than as a threat to be avoided, and on the other hand, people with low self-efficacy, they will run away from difficult tasks and assume them as personal threat. Self-efficacy is very prominent for every individual as well as for students, because self-efficacy encourages ones to try harder to overcome all difficulties and makes all the impossible becomes possible. This study aims to determine: (1) the level of students’ self-efficacy in Faculty of Psychology (2) level of Students’ self-efficacy in Faculty of Science and Technology, IT department (3) differences on the level of students’ self- efficacy in faculty of psychology and science and technology, IT department.

Thi study is a quantitative study using comparative methods approach. The sample in this study is 42 generation-2009-students of psychology faculty and 52 generation-2009-students of science and technology-IT department 2009. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling, instrument used in this study is self-efficacy questionnaire. To test the validity is using Product Moment formula and to test the reliability is using Cronbach's Alpha formula and SPSS 16 program for windows.

Based on the results of this research, the level of students’ self-efficacy of faculty of Psychology and Science and Technology, IT Department is in the medium category with 61.9% percentage for psychology, as well as 76.9% for Science and Technology, the IT department. Based on the results of data analysis using the t-test, it is obtained that Thit = 613 <Ttab = 1.645, Thit is smaller than Ttab with df = 92, the value of F = 2.275 sign (p) = 0.135 with a significance level is 0.05. Then H0: accepted and Ha: rejected. It means that the hypothesis in this study is rejected. Thus, there is no difference in the level of students’ self-efficacy between faculty of Psychology and Science and Technology 2009- IT department UIN Malang Maulana Malik Ibrahim.
