Abstract

INDONESIA:

ENGLISH:

A geomagnetic method survey was conducted to determine the distribution of coal and the subsurface geological structure of the research area by using geomagnetic methods. Data collection was carried out on 309 measuring points that were spread over the research area with an area of about 320m x 640m with a spacing of 10m-20m depending on the condition and it used a proton processing magnetometer (PPM). Data processing was begun with daily correction and IGRF correction to obtain total magnetic anomalies. Furthermore, it will be interpreted qualitatively and quantitatively. Quantitative interpretation used surfer11, matlab and MagPick software. The results of qualitative interpretations of the research were obtained positive local anomalies between 0 nT to 180 nT interpreted as volcanic fragment and lava. The negative anomalies started from 0 nT to -220 nT that were interpreted as insertions of sandstones, and silt stones. The results of quantitative interpretations with a maximum depth of 20m under the soil surface were generally composed of coal, siltstone and andesite sandstone. The coal in the researchwas likely to be in the first layer which was intertwined with sandstone and silt stone. The layers with susceptibilityvalue of 0.0002 (SI units) were dominated by coal.
