Abstract
INDONESIA:
Kemampuan penyelesaian masalah siswa merupakan hal yang harus dimiliki oleh semua inividu terutama seorang konselor sebaya, meliputi kemampuan empati, keterampilan pemecahan masalah, keterampilan bertanya. Kemampuan penyelesaian masalah dilatarbelakangi oleh faktor pelatihan konseling sebaya.
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui: 1) apakah pelatihan peer counseling dapat meningkatkan kemampuan problem solving siswa, 2) besar efektivitas pelatihan peer counseling terhadap kemampuan problem solving siswa MTSN Gandusari Blitar.
Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif eksperimen. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa MTSN Gandusari Blitar sebanyak 27 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) pelatihan peer counseling dapat meningkatkan kemampuan problem solving siswa ditunjukkan dengan hasil nilai t 8,747 > 2,56 yang berarti taraf perbedaan sebesar 99%, dengan signifikansi sebesar 0.000 ≤ 0.05, (2) pelatihan peer counseling efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan problem solving siswa. Besar efektivitas ditunjukkan oleh perbedaan rata-rata (mean) antara pretest dan posttest sebesar 24.207.
ENGLISH:
The ability of solving a problem of students is something that has to be owned by every individual especially a peer counselor, including the capacity for empathy, problem solving skills, interogation skills. The ability of solving a problem is established by the factor of peer counseling training.
The purpose of this study was to determine: 1) whether the training of peer counseling could improve the students’ problem solving ability, 2) how great was the effectiveness of peer counseling training on the ability of problem solving of students of MTSN Gandusari Blitar.
The study used a quantitative experimental approach. The subjects were students of MTSN Gandusari Blitar as many as 27 students. The results showed that: (1) training of peer counseling could improve the students' ability of problem solving demonstrated by the results of the t value 8.747> 2.56, which meant that the level of difference was 99%, with a significance of 0.000 ≤ 0:05, (2) training of peer counseling was effective in improving students' ability of problem solving. Greatness of effectiveness was shown by the difference of average (mean) between pretest and posttest amounted to 24,207.
