Abstract

INDONESIA:

ENGLISH:

Stress has become a common issue affecting adolescents, young adults, and productive-age adults due to academic, professional, and daily life pressures. Batu City possesses strong potential as a recovery destination, supported by its cool climate, mountainous landscape, and abundant herbal plant resources. However, there is currently no facility that specifically integrates herbal potential with the community’s need for relaxation and mental restoration.

The Herbal-Based Relaxation Center in Batu City is designed to provide a restorative environment that combines natural experiences, herbal education, and relaxation activities. The design adopts the Biophilic Design approach to strengthen the connection between humans and nature through vegetation, water elements, natural materials, and spatial qualities that support psychological well-being. The proposed design is expected to serve as a nature-based relaxation facility that promotes mental health while increasing public awareness and appreciation of herbal plants.
