Abstract
INDONESIA:
Future hope merupakan aspek penting dalam perkembangan individu karena berperan dalam membentuk motivasi, arah hidup, dan ketahanan psikologis. Pada anak putus sekolah dari keluarga broken home, pembentukan harapan masa depan seringkali terhambat oleh keterbatasan dukungan emosional, kondisi ekonomi, dan pengalaman hidup yang kurang stabil. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami dinamika future hope pada anak putus sekolah dari keluarga broken home, serta mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhinya dan strategi yang digunakan dalam membentuk harapan dalam kondisi kerentanan.
Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus. Subjek penelitian berjumlah tiga orang anak usia 13–18 tahun yang mengalami putus sekolah dan berasal dari keluarga broken home, dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara semi-terstruktur, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan teknik analisis Miles dan Huberman, yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Keabsahan data diperoleh melalui triangulasi sumber dan metode, serta member checking.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa future hope pada subjek masih rendah dan belum berkembang secara optimal. Subjek masih memiliki wishes (keinginan), namun belum didukung oleh expectations, agency thinking, dan pathways thinking yang memadai. Faktor utama yang mempengaruhi adalah kondisi keluarga broken home, minimnya dukungan emosional, serta keterbatasan ekonomi. Dinamika yang muncul meliputi self-efficacy rendah, deprivasi emosional, goal instability, dan fixed mindset. Strategi yang digunakan masih sederhana dan bersifat jangka pendek. Penelitian ini mengimplikasikan pentingnya dukungan keluarga, lingkungan sosial, dan intervensi psikologis dalam mengembangkan future hope yang lebih adaptif dan terarah.

Future hope is an important aspect of individual development as it plays a role in shaping motivation, life direction, and psychological resilience. Among school
dropouts from broken home families, the development of future hope is often hindered by limited emotional support, economic constraints, and unstable life
experiences. This study aims to understand the dynamics of future hope among school dropouts from broken home families, as well as to identify the influencing
factors and the strategies used to build hope under vulnerable conditions.
This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. The participants consisted of three adolescents aged 13–18 years who had dropped out
of school and came from broken home families, selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observation, and
documentation. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was
ensured through source and method triangulation, as well as member checking.
The results indicate that the participants’ future hope remains low and has not developed optimally. Although the participants still have wishes, these are not
supported by adequate expectations, agency thinking, and pathways thinking. The main influencing factors include broken home family conditions, lack of emotional
support, and economic limitations. The emerging dynamics include low self- efficacy, emotional deprivation, goal instability, and a fixed mindset. The strategies
employed are still simple and short-term in nature. This study highlights the importance of family support, social environment, and psychological interventions
in fostering more adaptive and well-directed future hope
