Pembacaan Nominal Buwuh pada Walimatul ‘Urs perspektif Clifford Geertz dan Maqāṣid Al-Syarī‘Ah Jaseer Auda: Studi Desa Kunir Lor Kecamatan Kunir Kabupaten Lumajang

ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini mengkaji praktik pembacaan nominal buwuh dalam Walimatul ‘Urs pada masyarakat Desa Kunir Lor, Kecamatan Kunir, Kabupaten Lumajang yang mengalami pergeseran makna dari tradisi tolong-menolong menjadi simbol sosial yang mengandung unsur timbal balik, gengsi, dan tekanan sosial sehingga perlu ditinjau dalam perspektif Clifford Geertz dan maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah Jasser Auda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui makna dan pandangan masyarakat terhadap praktik pembacaan nominal buwuh serta menganalisis relevansinya terhadap kemaslahatan sosial dalam perspektif maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah.
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian hukum empiris dengan pendekatan interdisipliner. Data primer diperoleh melalui wawancara semi-terstruktur terhadap perangkat desa, tokoh agama, pembaca buwuh, serta masyarakat yang terlibat langsung dalam tradisi tersebut dengan teknik purposive sampling. Data sekunder bersumber dari literatur hukum Islam, buku dan jurnal terkait tradisi buwuh, maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah Jasser Auda, serta sumber hukum Islam lainnya. Data diolah melalui tahap editing, klasifikasi, verifikasi, dan dianalisis menggunakan perspektif maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah Jasser Auda.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa praktik pembacaan nominal buwuh dimaknai sebagai bentuk penghormatan, transparansi, dan penguat solidaritas sosial dalam masyarakat. Namun, praktik tersebut juga berpotensi menimbulkan tekanan sosial, rasa gengsi, dan beban ekonomi akibat adanya dorongan menjaga citra sosial dan hubungan timbal balik antarwarga. Analisis berdasarkan maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah Jasser Auda menunjukkan bahwa tradisi buwuh pada dasarnya mengandung nilai maslahah karena memperkuat semangat ta‘āwun dan kebersamaan masyarakat, tetapi pembacaan nominal secara terbuka dapat menimbulkan mafsadah apabila memicu riya’, ketimpangan sosial, serta bertentangan dengan kemaslahatan sosial. Dengan demikian, praktik pembacaan nominal buwuh perlu diarahkan agar tetap menjaga nilai solidaritas tanpa menimbulkan tekanan sosial dalam masyarakat.

ABSTRACT

This study examines the practice of publicly announcing the nominal value of buwuh during Walimatul ‘Urs in Kunir Lor Village, Kunir District, Lumajang Regency, which has shifted from a tradition of mutual assistance into a social symbol containing elements of reciprocity, prestige, and social pressure, thus requiring analysis from the perspective of Clifford Geertz and Jasser Auda’s maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah. This study aims to identify the meaning and public perception of the practice of reading buwuh nominal values and to analyze its relevance to social welfare from the perspective of maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah.
This research is an empirical legal study using a interdisipliner approach. Primary data were obtained through semi-structured interviews and observations involving village officials, religious leaders, buwuh readers, and community members directly involved in the tradition through purposive sampling techniques. Secondary data were obtained from Islamic legal literature, books and journals related to the buwuh tradition, Jasser Auda’s maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah, and other Islamic legal sources. The data were processed through editing, classification, verification, and analyzed using the perspective of Jasser Auda’s maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah.
The results of the study indicate that the practice of reading the nominal value of buwuh is perceived as a form of respect, transparency, and reinforcement of social solidarity within the community. However, the practice also has the potential to create social pressure, prestige competition, and economic burdens due to the desire to maintain social image and reciprocal relations among community members. Analysis based on Jasser Auda’s maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah shows that the buwuh tradition fundamentally contains maslahah values because it strengthens the spirit of ta‘āwun and communal solidarity. Nevertheless, publicly announcing the nominal values may lead to mafsadah if it triggers ostentation (riyā’), social inequality, and conflicts with the principles of social welfare. Therefore, the practice of reading buwuh nominal values should be directed toward preserving solidarity without creating social pressure within society.

يبحث هذا البحث في ظاهرة قراءة القيمة الاسمية للبُوُوْه علنًا في مناسبة وليمة العرس بقرية كونير لور، ناحية كونير، محافظة لوماجانج، والتي شهدت تحولًا في معناها من عادة قائمة على التعاون والمساعدة المتبادلة إلى رمز اجتماعي يتضمن عناصر المعاملة بالمثل، والمكانة الاجتماعية، والضغط الاجتماعي، مما يستدعي دراستها من منظور مقاصد الشريعة عند جاسر عودة. ويهدف هذا البحث إلى معرفة معنى هذه الظاهرة ونظرة المجتمع إليها، وتحليل مدى ارتباطها بالمصلحة الاجتماعية في ضوء مقاصد الشريعة.
يعد هذا البحث بحثًا قانونيًا تجريبيًا يتبع نهجًا متعدد التخصصات. وقد تم الحصول على البيانات الأولية من خلال مقابلات شبه منظمة مع مسؤولي القرية، والشخصيات الدينية، وقراء «بوو» للبُوُوْه بالإضافة إلى أفراد المجتمع المشاركين بشكل مباشر في هذه التقاليد، وذلك باستخدام تقنية «الاختيار الهادف» (أما البيانات الثانوية فمصدرها الأدبيات القانونية الإسلامية، والكتب والمجلات المتعلقة بتقليد ”بوو“، وكتاب ”مقاصد الشريعة“ لجاسر عودة، بالإضافة إلى مصادر قانونية إسلامية أخرى. تمت معالجة البيانات من خلال مراحل التحرير والتصنيف والتحقق، ثم تم تحليلها باستخدام منظور ”مقاصد الشريعة“ لجاسر عودة.
أظهرت نتائج البحث أن ممارسة قراءة التبرعات في تقليد ”بوو“ تُفسر على أنها شكل من أشكال الاحترام والشفافية وتعزيز التضامن الاجتماعي في المجتمع. ومع ذلك، فإن هذه الممارسة تنطوي أيضًا على احتمال إحداث ضغوط اجتماعية، والشعور بالكبرياء، وعبء اقتصادي نتيجة للحافز على الحفاظ على الصورة الاجتماعية والعلاقات المتبادلة بين أفراد المجتمع. ويُظهر التحليل القائم على مقاصد الشريعة لجاسر عودة أن تقليد ”البووه“ ينطوي في الأساس على قيمة المصلحة لأنه يعزز روح التعاون والتكافل المجتمعي، لكن قراءة المبالغ بشكل علني قد تسبب الضرر إذا أدت إلى الرياء والتفاوت الاجتماعي، وتعارضت مع المصلحة الاجتماعية. وبالتالي، فإن ممارسة قراءة التبرعات في ”البووه“ يجب توجيهها بحيث تحافظ على قيمة التضامن دون أن تسبب ضغوطًا اجتماعية في المجتمع.
