SAPA : Rediscovering ciwidey station with a genius loci approach as a local tourism gateway

Stasiun Ciwidey merupakan stasiun bersejarah pada jalur kereta api Bandung–Ciwidey yang dahulu berperan utama sebagai pengantar logistik dan penggerak aktivitas kawasan Bandung Selatan. Seiring waktu stasiun ciwidey berhenti beroperasi, akibat biaya operasional terhadap pendapatan yang tidak sebanding. Sekarang Ciwidey terus berkembang sebagai salah satu destinasi pariwisata unggulan nasional dengan potensi wisata alam, budaya, dan keluarga yang tinggi. Untuk mendukung hal tersebut diperlukannya konektivitas, fasilitas yang memadai, pengenalan akan wisata dan budaya setempat. Perancangan “SAPA: Rediscovering Ciwidey Station with a Genius Loci Approach as a Local Tourism Gateway” bertujuan menghadirkan kembali Stasiun Ciwidey sebagai simpul transportasi massal sekaligus gerbang pariwisata lokal. Melalui pendekatan Genius Loci dengan prinsip desain Identity of Place, Orientation, dan Character perancangan diharapkan mampu menjawab isu connectivity dan image. Sehingga perancangan dapat mengenalkan budaya dan wisata setempat dalam aktivitas transit, suasana, dan ciri khas dari bangunan, serta memudahkan pengguna dalam menjangkau simpul wisata dan budaya. Hasil perancangan diharapkan mampu menghadirkan stasiun yang tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai tempat transit, tetapi juga sebagai ruang publik yang memperkuat identitas lokal dan mendukung pengembangan pariwisata secara berkelanjutan.

Ciwidey Station was a historic station on the Bandung–Ciwidey railway line that originally played a major role in freight transportation and served as a catalyst for economic activities in the southern Bandung region. Over time, the station ceased operations due to operational costs that were no longer proportional to its revenue. Today, Ciwidey continues to develop as one of Indonesia’s leading national tourism destinations, offering significant natural, cultural, and family-oriented tourism potential. To support this development, improved connectivity, adequate facilities, and the promotion of local tourism and culture are required. The design project entitled “SAPA: Rediscovering Ciwidey Station with a Genius Loci Approach as a Local Tourism Gateway” aims to reintroduce Ciwidey Station as a mass transportation hub as well as a tourism gateway for Bandung Regency. Through the Genius Loci approach, employing the design principles of Identity of Place, Orientation, and Character, the project seeks to address issues of connectivity and image. The design is expected to introduce local culture and tourism through transit activities, spatial atmosphere, and architectural identity, while facilitating access to tourism and cultural destinations. The proposed design is intended to create a station that functions not only as a transit facility but also as a public space that strengthens local identity and supports sustainable tourism development.

تُعدّ محطة تشيويدي (Ciwidey) محطةً تاريخيةً على خط السكك الحديدية باندونغ–تشيويدي، وكانت تؤدي دورًا رئيسيًا في نقل البضائع وتحفيز الأنشطة الاقتصادية في منطقة جنوب باندونغ. ومع مرور الوقت توقفت المحطة عن العمل نتيجة عدم التوازن بين تكاليف التشغيل والعوائد المالية. وفي الوقت الحاضر، تواصل تشيويدي تطورها باعتبارها إحدى الوجهات السياحية الوطنية الرائدة في إندونيسيا، لما تمتلكه من مقومات سياحية طبيعية وثقافية وعائلية متميزة. ولدعم هذا التطور، تبرز الحاجة إلى تعزيز الربط والاتصال، وتوفير المرافق الملائمة، والتعريف بالسياحة والثقافة المحلية. يهدف مشروع التصميم المعنون «SAPA: إعادة اكتشاف محطة تشيويدي من خلال مقاربة روح المكان (Genius Loci) كبوابة سياحية محلية» إلى إحياء محطة تشيويدي بوصفها مركزًا للنقل الجماعي وبوابةً سياحيةً لإقليم باندونغ. ومن خلال اعتماد مقاربة روح المكان (Genius Loci) القائمة على مبادئ هوية المكان (Identity of Place)، والتوجيه (Orientation)، والطابع (Character)، يسعى التصميم إلى معالجة قضايا الاتصال والصورة الذهنية للمكان. كما يهدف إلى التعريف بالثقافة والسياحة المحليتين من خلال أنشطة العبور، والأجواء المكانية، والهوية المعمارية للمبنى، إلى جانب تسهيل وصول المستخدمين إلى المقاصد السياحية والثقافية. ومن المتوقع أن تسهم نتائج التصميم في تقديم محطة لا تؤدي وظيفة النقل والعبور فحسب، بل تعمل أيضًا كفضاء عام يعزز الهوية المحلية ويدعم التنمية السياحية المستدامة.
