Abstract
INDONESIA:
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh dukungan sosial terhadap student well-being santri serta menguji peran regulasi emosi sebagai variabel moderator. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan mixed methods dengan desain embedded, di mana pendekatan kuantitatif berperan sebagai metode utama dan pendekatan kualitatif sebagai pendukung. Sampel kuantitatif terdiri atas 250 santri berusia 15–18 tahun yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Data kuantitatif dianalisis menggunakan regresi moderasi, sedangkan data kualitatif diperoleh melalui Focus Group Discussion (FGD) dan dianalisis secara tematik untuk memperdalam pemahaman mengenai student well-being santri.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dukungan sosial berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap student well-being santri. Regulasi emosi juga berpengaruh signifikan terhadap student well-being. Selain itu, hasil analisis moderasi menunjukkan bahwa regulasi emosi memperlemah pengaruh dukungan sosial terhadap student well-being santri. Temuan kualitatif mendukung hasil kuantitatif dengan menunjukkan bahwa santri yang memiliki kemampuan regulasi emosi yang baik cenderung mampu menjaga kesejahteraan psikologis secara mandiri melalui strategi coping personal dan religius.
Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa student well-being santri dibentuk oleh interaksi antara faktor eksternal berupa dukungan sosial dan faktor internal berupa regulasi emosi. Temuan moderasi negatif menunjukkan bahwa penguatan regulasi emosi dapat meningkatkan kemandirian psikologis santri dan mengurangi ketergantungan pada dukungan sosial eksternal.
ENGLISH:
This study aims to analyze the effect of social support on students’ well-being among Islamic boarding school students (santri) and to examine the role of emotion regulation as a moderating variable. The study employed a mixed-methods approach with an embedded design, in which the quantitative approach served as the primary method and the qualitative approach as a complementary method. The quantitative sample consisted of 250 santri aged 15–18 years, selected using purposive sampling techniques. Quantitative data were analyzed using moderation regression analysis, while qualitative data were obtained through Focus Group Discussions (FGD) and analyzed thematically to deepen the understanding of students’ well-being among santri.
The results indicate that social support has a positive and significant effect on students’ well-being among santri. Emotion regulation also has a significant effect on students’ well-being. Furthermore, the moderation analysis reveals that emotion regulation weakens the effect of social support on students’ well-being among santri. Qualitative findings support the quantitative results by showing that santri with good emotion regulation abilities tend to maintain their psychological well-being independently through personal and religious coping strategies.
This study concludes that students’ well-being among santri is shaped by the interaction between external factors in the form of social support and internal factors in the form of emotion regulation. The negative moderating effect indicates that strengthening emotion regulation can enhance santri’s psychological independence and reduce their reliance on external social support.
