Tradisi Mellattigi dalam perkawinan suku Mandar perspektif 'Urf: Studi di Kelurahan Lalampanua, Majene, Sulawesi Barat

ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pelaksanaan tradisi Mellattigi dalam prosesi pranikah masyarakat Suku Mandar serta menilai kedudukannya berdasarkan konsep ‘urf dalam hukum Islam. Penelitian menggunakan metode empiris dengan pendekatan kualitatif melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi lapangan, dan dokumentasi di Kelurahan Lalampanua, Kecamatan Pamboang, Kabupaten Majene, Sulawesi Barat.

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tradisi Mellattigi masih dipraktikkan secara konsisten dan dipandang sebagai simbol kesucian, kesiapan moral, serta bentuk restu sosial dan religius sebelum pernikahan. Tradisi ini mengandung nilai sosial, budaya, dan religius yang kuat, tercermin dari keterlibatan tokoh adat dan tokoh agama, penggunaan simbol adat, serta pembacaan Barzanji dan doa bersama. Dalam perspektif hukum Islam, Mellattigi dikategorikan sebagai ‘urf shahih karena tidak bertentangan dengan Al-Qur’an dan Sunnah, tidak menghalalkan yang haram, serta membawa kemaslahatan bagi masyarakat.

Penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa Mellattigi merupakan bentuk akulturasi harmonis antara adat Mandar dan ajaran Islam, meskipun menghadapi tantangan modernisasi, terutama di kalangan generasi muda. Secara teoretis, penelitian ini memperkaya kajian ‘urf dalam hukum Islam, sedangkan secara praktis memberikan pedoman pelestarian tradisi lokal yang selaras dengan nilai-nilai syariat.

ABSTRACT

This study aims to analyze the practice of the Mellattigi tradition in the premarital process of the Mandar ethnic community and to examine its status based on the concept of ‘urf in Islamic law. The research employed an empirical method with a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation conducted in Lalampanua Village, Pamboang District, Majene Regency, West Sulawesi.

The findings reveal that the Mellattigi tradition is still consistently practiced and is perceived as a symbol of purity, moral readiness, and social as well as religious blessing prior to marriage. The tradition embodies strong social, cultural, and religious values, reflected in the involvement of customary and religious leaders, the use of traditional symbols, and the recitation of Barzanji and collective prayers. From the perspective of Islamic law, Mellattigi is categorized as ‘urf shahih, as it does not contradict the Qur’an and Sunnah, does not legalize prohibited acts, and contributes to public welfare.

The study also indicates that Mellattigi represents a harmonious acculturation between Mandar local customs and Islamic teachings, although it faces challenges due to modernization, particularly among younger generations. Theoretically, this research contributes to the development of ‘urf studies in Islamic law, while practically offering guidance for preserving local traditions in harmony with Islamic values.

تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تحليل تطبيق تقليد الميلتيجي في المسيرة قبل الزواج لقبيلة المندار وتقييم موقعه بناء على مفهوم العرف في الشريعة الإسلامية. يستخدم البحث منهجا تجريبيا بنهج نوعي من خلال مقابلات معمقة، وملاحظات ميدانية، وتوثيق في قرية لالامبانوا، منطقة بامبوانغ، مقاطعة ماجين، غرب سولاويسي.

تظهر نتائج الدراسة أن تقليد ميلاتيجي لا يزال يمارس باستمرار وينظر إليه كرمز للنقاء والاستعداد الأخلاقي وشكل من أشكال البركة الاجتماعية والدينية قبل الزواج. يحتوي هذا التقليد على قيم اجتماعية وثقافية ودينية قوية، ينعكس ذلك في مشاركة القادة التقليديين والدينيين، واستخدام الرموز التقليدية، بالإضافة إلى تلاوة البارزنجي والصلوات المشتركة. من منظور الشريعة الإسلامية، يصنف الملتيجي كعرف صحيح لأنه لا يتعارض مع القرآن والسنة، ولا يشرع ما هو حرام، ويجلب فوائد للمجتمع.

كما وجدت الدراسة أن ميلتيجي هو شكل من أشكال التناغم الثقافي بين عادات المندار والتعاليم الإسلامية، رغم مواجهة تحديات التحديث، خاصة بين الجيل الأصغر. نظريا، تثري هذه الأبحاث دراسة العراف في الشريعة الإسلامية، بينما توفر عمليا إرشادات للحفاظ على التقاليد المحلية التي تتوافق مع قيم الشريعة.
