Abstract

ENGLISH :

Islamic education has a significant role in the development of human resources and the development of character, so that the people who created a reflection of Islamic society. However, until now the Islamic education still face complex problems, from the conceptual-theoretical problems, up-practical operational issues. Not solved this problem by making Islamic education lags behind other educational institutions, both quantitatively and qualitatively, so that impressed Islamic education as education "second class". In response to the education articulated properly, it is necessary to re-defining the concept of a true Islamic education. The formulation is done by examining the thoughts and works of earlier Muslim intellectuals with philosophical point of view in order to get a true and profound concept. Here Ibn Jama'ah offers the concept of Islamic education that is based on the Qur'an and Sunnah, one belonging to the Muslim intellectual creative and productive with his work is very well known in the education Tazkirah as-Sami 'wa al-mutakallim Fi al-Adab wa al-Muta'allim'Ālim. Based on this background, it can be a problem formulation related to Ibn Jama'ah thinking about the concept of Islamic education, the position of the concept of thinking among some existing theories of philosophy of education, as well as contribute ideas towards Ibn Jama'ah adult Islamic education in Indonesia.

The Research by the author is included in library research is qualitative research using textual footing against statements and scientific proportions expressed by Ibn Jama'ah in some of his work and character of Islamic education that is still associated with discussion. In the data analysis, the authors use content analysis techniques or content analisys. by analyzing the data using the analysis stage of Klaus Krippendorff, there are 6 stages of content analysis, namely: unitizing, Sampling, Recording, Reducing, Abductively inferring, Naratting. The next step is to find a style of Ibn Jama'ah thinking about the concept of Islamic education Islamic education includes educational goals, curriculum, teaching methodology, as well as the concept of educators and learners. Then map the patterns of thought of Ibn Jama'ah to the typology of philosophical schools.
