Partisipasi tokoh agama dalam merespons eksploitasi pertambangan batubara di Kabupaten Kotabaru Kalimantan Selatan

Kegiatan pemanfaatan kekayaan alam seperti batu bara telah memberikan kontribusi yang besar terhadap pemasukan keuangan Negara, terutama di sektor royalti, pajak, bea cukai, Pendapatan Asli Daerah (PAD) dan bahkan mendorong terciptanya lapangan kerja secara besar-besaran. Akan tetapi, limpahan kekayaan alam tersebut, berbanding terbalik dengan ekspektasi masyarakat khususnya masyarakat Kabupaten Kotabaru sebagai salah satu kabupaten penyumbang devisa yang cukup besar terhadap negara. Eksploitasi batu bara dengan sistem open pit telah melenyapkan nilai kelestarian lingkungan, bahkan cenderung merusak lingkungan hingga menyebabkan berbagai bencana alam. Oleh sebab itu,
perlu mengaitkan persoalan ekologi dengan agama sebagai bentuk penyelamat, pembela dan penghidup keadilan terhadap lingkungan. Penelitian ini memfokuskan pada pandangan tokoh agama dan partisipasi tokoh agama dalam merespons eksploitasi pertambangan batu bara di Kabupaten Kotabaru.

Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif yang jenis penelitiannya adalah studi kasus. Teknik penentuan informan melalui purposive dan snowball, dan pengumpulan datanya menggunakan teknik wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipan, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis data model analisis Miles dan Huberman. Pengecekan keabsahan data dilakukan melalui trianggulasi sumber.

Kesimpulan penelitian ini menyatakan, bahwa: 1). Pandangan tokoh agama tentang eksploitasi pertambangan batu bara di Kabupaten Kotabaru bahwa sumberdaya alam merupakan anugerah dari Tuhan untuk dimanfaatkan oleh manusia demi meningkatkan kesejahteraan manusia sendiri (kemaslahatan masyarakat). Oleh sebab itu, nilai-nilai teologi didorong menjadi tumpuan utama dalam melakukan eksploitasi sumberdaya alam, sehingga tatanan pertambangan dibangun melalui kesadaran lingkungan berdasarkan pada nilai-nilai spiritualitas dan religiusitas yang dikenal dengan ecotheology; dan 2). Partisipasi tokoh agama dalam merespons pertambangan batu bara di Kabupaten Kotabaru adalah dengan berperan sebagai patron bagi masyarakat. Melalui peran tersebut, ia melalui wibawanya memengaruhi masyarakat untuk membangunnya dengan referensi normatifnya adalah nilai-nilai etis teologis dan etis antropologis. Di satu sisi melalui peran edukatif, ulama’ mencoba melakukan upaya integrasi perilaku eksploitasi sumberdaya alam dengan dimensi teologis. Oleh sebab itu, ulama’ melalui dakwah memberikan pemahaman utuh tentang urgensitas eksploitasi sumberdaya alam berbasis spiritual yang bisa mencegah dan menanggulangi perilaku eksploitatif yang tidak beretika dan bermoral.

The activity of utilizing natural resources such as coal has made a large contribution to the state's financial income, especially in the royalty, tax, customs, Regional Original Income (PAD) sectors, and has even encouraged the creation of large-scale employment opportunities. However, the abundance of natural resources is inversely proportional to the expectations of the community, especially the people of Kotabaru Regency, as one of the regencies that contributes quite a lot of foreign exchange to the country. Coal exploitation with the open pit system has eliminated the value of environmental sustainability, even tending to damage the environment to cause various natural disasters. Therefore, it is necessary to link ecological issues with religion as a form of savior, defender, and advocate of justice for the environment. This research focuses on the views of religious figures and the participation of religious figures in responding to coal mining exploitation in Kotabaru Regency.

This research uses a qualitative approach, and the type of research is a case study. The technique for determining informants is through purposive and snowball sampling, and data collection using in-depth interview techniques, participant observation, and documentation. The data analysis used is the Miles and Huberman analysis model data analysis. Data validity checking is done through source triangulation

The conclusion of this study states that: 1) The views of religious figures on coal mining exploitation in Kotabaru Regency state that natural resources are a gift from God to be utilized by humans to improve human welfare (community welfare). Therefore, theological values are encouraged to be the mainstay in exploiting natural resources, so that the mining system is built through environmental awareness based on spiritual and religious values known as ecotheology; and 2). The participation of religious figures in responding to coal mining in Kotabaru Regency is by acting as a patron for the community. Through this role, they, through their authority, influence the community to build it with normative references being theological, ethical, and anthropological ethical values. On the one hand, through an educational role, ulama' tries to make an effort to integrate the behavior of exploiting natural resources with theological dimensions. Therefore, ulama' through preaching provides a complete understanding of the urgency of spiritually based exploitation of natural resources that can prevent and overcome exploitative behavior that is unethical and immoral.
