Keanekaragaman fitoplankton di aliran sungai Gembong Kota Pasuruan

ABSTRAK:

Sungai Gembong di Kota Pasuruan merupakan salah satu badan air penting yang digunakan untuk berbagai aktivitas masyarakat. Namun, peningkatan limbah rumah tangga dan industri menurunkan kualitas air dan memengaruhi ekosistem, termasuk fitoplankton. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengidentifikasi genus fitoplankton, (2) menentukan kelimpahan dan keanekaragaman, (3) mengukur parameter fisika (suhu) dan kimia (pH, nitrat, fosfat, BOD, COD, DO, TDS, TSS), dan (4) menganalisis hubungan antara kualitas air dan keanekaragaman fitoplankton. Sampel diambil di tiga stasiun dengan metode purposive sampling dan dianalisis secara mikroskopis di laboratorium. Ditemukan 5 kelas fitplankton yang terdiri dari 16 famili dan 21 genus. Kelimpahan berada pada kategori sedang hingga tinggi dengan nilai kelimpahan tertinggi sebesar 134,99 Ind//L yang berada di stasiun 3, dan indeks keanekaragaman termasuk kategori sedang. Hasil dari analisis korelasi menunjukkan hubungan yang kuat antara keanekaragaman fitoplankton dengan parameter kualitas air.

ABSTRACT:

Gembong River in Pasuruan City is an important water body used for various communityactivities. However, increasing household and industrial waste has led to a decline inwater quality and disrupted aquatic ecosystems, including phytoplankton. This studyaimed to: (1) identify phytoplankton genera, (2) determine abundance and diversity, (3)measure physical (temperature) and chemical (pH, nitrate, phosphate, BOD, COD, DO,TDS, TSS) parameters, and (4) analyze the correlation between water quality andphytoplankton diversity. Samples were collected at three stations using purposivesampling and analyzed microscopically in the laboratory. Five classes of phytoplanktonwere found, consisting of 16 families and 21 genera. The abundance ranged frommoderate to high, with the highest abundance value of 134,99 Ind/L observed at station 3.The diversity index was categorized as moderate. The results of the correlation analysisshowed a strong relationship between phytoplankton diversity and water qualityparameters
