Abstract

INDONESIA:

Air merupakan kebutuhan pokok yang sangat penting untuk kehidupan manusia, terutama untuk konsumsi dan keperluan sehari-hari. Seiring dengan perkembangan teknologi dan kepedulian terhadap akses air bersih unutk masyarakat, inovasi seperti pengadaan fountain tap yang menyediakan air siap minum di tempat umum semakin berkembang di banyak ruang publik termasuk di Kota Malang. Namun, kepercayaan masyarakat akan air minum tersebut masih perlu ditingkatkan, salah satunya dengan pengujian terhadap kandungan mikrobiologis yang terkandung pada air minum fountain tap. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini dilakukan untuk membuktikan presepsi masyarakat terhadap air minum fountain tap. Penelitian dilakukan dengan mengambil sampel air pada 8 titik unit fountain tap yang tersebar di berbagai titik di Kota Malang. Pengujian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode Most Probable Number (MPN) untuk mendeteksi kandungan coliform dan Escherichia coli sebagai indikator pencemaran mikrobiologis pada air minum. Hasil uji MPN menunjukkan bahwa sampel A (Universitas Negeri Malang), C (Puskesmas Gribig), dan E (Perpustakaan Umum Kota Malang) memenuhi standar baku air minum menurur Permenkes Nomor 2 Tahun 2023. Sedangkan sampel B (Masjid Al-Irsyaddul Ibad) dan H (MTS At-Taraqqie Putra) hanya mengandung coliform namun tidak mengandung coliform fekal. Pengujian dilanjutkan unutk sampel D (Kantor Kelurahan Mojolangu), F (Jalan Besar Ijen), dan G (Lapangan Rampal) dan menunjukan ketiga sampel mengandung bakteri Escherichia coli. Hasil penelitian menunjukan adanya ketidakkonsistenan dalam kualitas air dari fountain tap di Kota Malang yang berdampak pada presepsi dan tingkat kepercayaan masyarakat terhadap fasilitas fountain tap tersebut.

ENGLISH:

Water is a fundamental necessity that is essential for human life, particularly for consumption and daily use. Along with technological advancements and increasing awareness of the need for clean water access, innovations such as the installation of fountain taps that provide ready-to-drink water in public spaces are becoming more widespread, including in the city of Malang. However, public trust in the safety and quality of such drinking water still needs to be improved. One way to address this is by conducting microbiological tests on the drinking water provided by fountain taps. Therefore, this study was carried out to examine public perception of fountain tap water in Malang City. The research involved collecting water samples from eight fountain tap units located at various points across Malang. The water was tested using the Most Probable Number (MPN) method to detect the presence of coliform and Escherichia coli bacteria as indicators of microbiological contamination in drinking water. The MPN test results showed that
samples A (State University of Malang), C (Gribig Community Health Center), and E (Malang City Public Library) met the drinking water quality standards as stated in Ministry of Health Regulation No. 2 of 2023. In contrast, samples B (Al-Irsyaddul Ibad Mosque) and H (At-Taraqqie Boys’ Islamic Junior High School) were found to contain general coliform bacteria but no fecal coliform. Further testing of samples D (Mojolangu Subdistrict Office), F (Ijen Boulevard), and G (Rampal Field) revealed the presence of Escherichia coli, indicating fecal contamination and rendering the water unsafe for direct consumption. The findings of this study indicate inconsistencies in the quality of water from fountain taps across Malang City, which may negatively affect public perception and trust in the safety of these facilities. Therefore, routine monitoring and maintenance of fountain tap systems, along with public education on water hygiene, are essential to ensure the sustainability and effectiveness of public drinking water programs
