يتناول هذا البحث تمثيل الحب عند الشخصية الرئيسية في رواية "الحب فوق هضبة الهرم" للكاتب نجيب محفوظ، وذلك من خلال تحليل يعتمد على نظرية علم نفس الحب لإلين هاتفيلد. يهدف هذا البحث إلى تحديد ووصف أشكال الحب التي يمر بها البطل الرئيسي، بالإضافة إلى تحليل كيفية تطور ديناميكية الحب ضمن مجرى الأحداث في الرواية. وقد استُخدم في هذا البحث المنهج الوصفي النوعي (الكيفي) مع اقتراب من علم النفس الأدبي. جُمعت البيانات من خلال القراءة المتعمقة لنص الرواية، ثم تم تحليلها باستخدام نظرية الحب لإلين هاتفيلد، التي تُقسِّم الحب إلى نوعين رئيسيين: الحب العاطفي والحب الودي. أظهرت نتائج البحث أن الشخصية الرئيسية تمر بتحول نفسي من الحب العاطفي، الذي يتصف بالعاطفة الشديدة والاندفاع، إلى الحب الودي، الذي يتسم بالثبات والعقلانية. وقد تأثر هذا التحول بالخلفية الاجتماعية، والضغوط الأخلاقية، وواقع الحياة في سياق المجتمع المصري الحديث. وتُبرز المناقشة أن نظرية هاتفيلد توفّر إطارًا فعّالًا لفهم تعقيدات الحب في السرد الروائي لمحفوظ، والذي يزخر بالدلالات الاجتماعية والنفسية. ويقترح هذا البحث أن تُدمَج نظريات علم النفس الحديثة بشكل أوسع في دراسات الأدب العربي، لما في ذلك من توسيع لآفاق التحليل، وتعميق للفهم الإنساني في الأعمال الأدبية العربية المعاصرة.

ABSTRACT

This study discusses the representation of love experienced by the main character in the novel "Al-Hubb Fawqa Hadabat al-Haram" by Naguib Mahfouz, analyzed through the psychological theory of love by Elaine Hatfield. The purpose of this research is to identify and describe the forms of love experienced by the protagonist and to explore how the dynamics of love develop throughout the storyline. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method with a literary psychology approach. Data were obtained through close reading of the novel’s text and analyzed using Elaine Hatfield’s theory of love, which divides love into two main types: passionate love and companionate love. The results indicate that the main character undergoes a psychological transition from passionate love, characterized by emotional intensity and impulsiveness, to companionate love, which is more stable and rational. This transformation is influenced by social background, moral pressure, and the character’s life realities within the context of modern Egyptian society. The discussion reveals that Hatfield’s theory effectively explains the complexity of love in Mahfouz’s narrative, which is rich in social and psychological meaning. This study recommends that future Arabic literary research further integrate modern psychological theories to expand analytical perspectives and deepen the humanistic understanding of contemporary Arabic literary works.

ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini membahas representasi cinta tokoh utama dalam novel "Al-Hubb Fawqa Hadabat al-Haram" karya Naguib Mahfouz, yang dianalisis melalui teori psikologi cinta dari Elaine Hatfield. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan mendeskripsikan bentuk-bentuk cinta yang dialami oleh tokoh utama serta bagaimana dinamika cinta tersebut berkembang dalam alur cerita. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan psikologi sastra. Data diperoleh melalui teknik pembacaan mendalam terhadap teks novel, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teori cinta Elaine Hatfield, yang membagi cinta menjadi dua jenis utama, yaitu passionate love (cinta bergairah) dan companionate love (cinta bersahabat). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tokoh utama mengalami transisi psikologis dari passionate love yang bersifat emosional dan impulsif menuju companionate love yang lebih stabil dan rasional. Perubahan ini dipengaruhi oleh latar sosial, tekanan moral, dan realitas kehidupan tokoh dalam konteks Mesir modern. Pembahasan menunjukkan bahwa teori Hatfield mampu menjelaskan kompleksitas cinta dalam narasi Mahfouz yang sarat makna sosial dan psikologis. Saran dari penelitian ini adalah agar kajian sastra Arab lebih banyak mengintegrasikan teori-teori psikologi modern untuk memperluas perspektif analisis, serta menggali lebih dalam sisi humanistik dalam karya-karya sastra Arab kontemporer.
