Abstract

INDONESIA:

Limbah industri di Indonesia, terutama dari sektor pengolahan kuliner, telah menjadi ancaman serius bagi lingkungan. Limbah industri kuliner di Kota Probolinggo menjadi isu lingkungan yang semakin serius. Kondisi ini sejalan dengan peringatan dalam Al-Qur’an, yaitu surah An-Nahl ayat 14 dan Ar-Rum ayat 41, yang menekankan pentingnya menjaga alam sebagai bentuk amanah dari Allah SWT. Kerusakan lingkungan akibat aktivitas manusia perlu ditanggapi dengan solusi yang berkelanjutan.

Tujuan dari tugas akhir ini adalah merancang Tapal Kuda Urban Market di Kota Probolinggo yang menerapkan pendekatan zero waste sebagai upaya mengatasi permasalahan limbah sekaligus membentuk lingkungan pasar yang lebih ramah lingkungan.

Perancangan dilakukan dengan pendekatan arsitektur berkelanjutan yang mengintegrasikan prinsip zero waste. Strategi yang digunakan meliputi pemanfaatan energi terbarukan, penggunaan material ramah lingkungan, dan desain tata ruang yang mendukung efisiensi pengelolaan limbah.

Desain Tapal Kuda Urban Market diharapkan dapat menghasilkan rancangan yang fungsional sekaligus ekologis. Integrasi elemen keberlanjutan memungkinkan pengurangan limbah secara signifikan dan menciptakan ruang publik yang edukatif dan inspiratif bagi masyarakat.

Penerapan konsep zero waste dalam desain pasar ini diharapkan mampu menjadi solusi konkret bagi persoalan lingkungan di sektor kuliner. Selain itu, proyek ini berpotensi menjadi ikon pasar ramah lingkungan di Probolinggo dan menjadi model percontohan bagi kota-kota lain.

Industrial waste in Indonesia, particularly from the culinary processing sector, has become a significant threat to the environment. In Probolinggo City, culinary industry waste represents an increasingly pressing environmental issue. This condition aligns with the warnings conveyed in the Qur’an, particularly in Surah An-Nahl (verse 14) and Ar-Rum (verse 41), which emphasise the importance of preserving nature as a trust from Allah SWT. Environmental degradation caused by human activity necessitates sustainable responses.

This final project aims to design the Tapal Kuda Urban Market in Probolinggo City by implementing a zero-waste approach as an effort to address waste-related problems while creating a more environmentally friendly market space.

The design process adopts a sustainable architectural approach that incorporates zero-waste principles. Strategies employed include the utilisation of renewable energy, the use of environmentally friendly materials, and spatial planning that supports efficient waste management.

The Tapal Kuda Urban Market design is expected to produce a space that is both functional and ecological. The integration of sustainable elements enables significant waste reduction and offers a public environment that is both educational and inspiring for the community.

The application of the zero-waste concept in this market design is anticipated to provide a tangible solution to environmental challenges within the culinary sector. Furthermore, the project has the potential to serve as a green market icon in Probolinggo and as a model for similar developments in other cities.
