Abstract
INDONESIA:
Hakikat IPA mencakup empat unsur utama yang harus dimiliki peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran IPA, yakni sikap, proses, produk dan aplikasi. Namun, kecenderungan pembelajaran IPA masa kini tidak tersentuh oleh keempat unsur tersebut dikarenakan ketersediaan bahan ajar yang terbatas dan kurang interaktif. Oleh karena itu, produk pengembangan bahan ajar berbasis ensiklopedia pada materi daur hidup hewan untuk kelas IV SD/MI ini dimaksudkan untuk dapat memenuhi ketersedian bahan ajar yang dapat meningkatkan keefektifan dan kemenarikan serta meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa dalam kegiatan pembelajaran IPA di MI Bahrul Ulum Batu.
Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian pengembangan Research and Development (R & D) yang dikemukakan oleh Dick & Carey dengan sembilan tahapan pengembangan. Hasil pengembangan bahan ajar berbasis ensiklopedia ini telah melewati uji validasi ahli isi mata pelajaran, ahli desain pembelajaran dan guru mata pelajaran IPA MI serta serangkaian uji coba terhadap siswa kelas IV MI Bahrul Ulum Batu melalui uji coba perorangan, uji coba kelompok kecil dan uji coba lapangan.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, bahan ajar berbasis ensiklopedia dan CD pembelajaran ini memiliki tingkat keefektifan dan kemenarikan yang tinggi dan dapat dikatakan layak digunakan oleh peserta didik di tingkat sekolah dasar kelas IV. Hal ini dibuktikan dari hasil validasi ahli isi mata pelajaran terhadap buku ajar siswa, diperoleh 92,00% dan buku pandua guru 88,57%, yang masing-masing berada pada kualifikasi sangat baik dan baik. Validasi ahli desain pembelajaran terhadap buku ajar siswa diperoleh 90,76%, buku panduan guru 85,45% dan CD pembelajaran 83,33% yang berada pada kualifikasi sangat baik dan baik. Penilaian guru mata pelajaran IPA terhadap buku ensiklopedia diperoleh 90,76%, buku panduan guru dan CD pembelajaran diperoleh 90,00% yang berada pada kualifikasi sangat baik. Hasil uji coba perorangan terhadap buku ajar dan CD pembelajaran, mencapai 96,41% yang berada pada kualifikasi sangat baik, uji coba kelompok kecil mencapai 94,61% yang berada pada kualifikasi sangat baik dan uji coba lapangan mencapai 94,42% yang berada pada kualifikasi sangat baik.
Hasil perhitungan manual diperoleh thitung 13,33 > ttabel 2,084 yang berarti H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Jadi dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa bahan ajar berbasis ensiklopedia dan CD pembelajaran ini terbukti secara signifikan dapat meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa kelas IV Mi Bahrul Ulum Batu.
ENGLISH:
The essence of Natural Science (IPA – Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam) involves four main substances that must be mastered by the educated participants in IPA learning. These substances are attitude, process, product and application. However, these four substances are disregarded in recent trend of IPA learning because of limited teaching material and less interactivity. Therefore, the development of encyclopedia-based teaching material for the animal life cycle lesson for Grade IV of Elementary Schools (SD/MI) is considered as important to meet the demand of teaching material which improves effectiveness, interest, and learning achievement of students in IPA learning at MI Bahrul Ulum Batu.
Research design is research and development (R&D) proposed by Dick and Carey with nine development stages. The encyclopedia-based teaching material has passed the validation test organized by expert panelist consisting of lesson content expert, learning design expert, and teacher of IPA at MI. Set of trials are given to Grade IV students of MI Bahrul Ulum Batu. These trials involve individual trial, small group trial, and field trial.
Based on the result of research, the encyclopedia-based teaching material and the learning CD are highly effective and very attractive, and therefore, reliable to use by the education participants of Grade IV in elementary school. It is proved by the result of validation by the lesson content expert, showing that 92.00% the student teaching books are in very good qualification and 88.57 % the manual books are in good qualification. The validation by the learning design expert for student teaching book indicates that 90.76 % these books are in very good qualification, while the teacher manual books and the learning CD are 85.45% and 83.33 %, or in good qualification. The assessment of natural science teacher shows that 90.76 % the encyclopedia books, 90.00% teacher manual books and the learning CD are in very good qualification. Result of individual trial with the teaching books and the learning CD indicates that 96.41 % are in very good qualification. Results of small group trial and field trial show the percentage of 94.61 % and 94.42 %, and both are in very good qualification.
Result of manual calculation obtains that tcount of 13.33 > ttable of 2.484. It means that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. It is concluded that the encyclopedia- based teaching material and the learning CD are proved significantly as to increase the learning achievement of Grade IV students at MI Bahrul Ulum Batu.
