Abstract
INDONESIA
Stunting pada balita masih menjadi masalah gizi anak yang krusial. Salah satu faktor yang berpengaruh langsung terhadap stunting adalah kurangnya asupan zat gizi terutama protein. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan asupan protein dengan risiko kejadian stunting pada balita usia 6-59 bulan di Puskesmas Dinoyo Malang 2024. Metode yang digunakan adalah desain cross sectional. Penelitian ini melibatkan 40 ibu yang memiliki anak balita usia 6–59 bulan yang didapatkan melalui teknik purposive sampling. Data asupan protein diperoleh dari Semi Quantitative-Food Frequency Questionnaire (SQ-FFQ) enam bulan terakhir. Indikator Tinggi Badan menurut Usia (TB/U) dalam z-score digunakan untuk mengetahui stunting berdasarkan hasil pengukuran TB/U. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebanyak 15 anak (37,5%) dengan kategori pendek (-3 SD s.d < -2 SD) dan sebanyak 13 anak (32,5%) dengan kategori sangat pendek (< -3 SD). Didapatkan juga asupan lebih pada anak dengan kategori tinggi badan pendek sebanyak 10 anak (25%). Menggunakan uji Chi-Square didapatkan nilai P value sebesar 0,016 dimana nilai P value <0.05. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, asupan protein berhubungan dengan stunting pada balita di Puskemas Dinoyo Malang. Ibu perlu meningkatkan asupan protein untuk balita guna menurunkan kejadian risiko stunting.

Stunting in toddlers remains a crucial child nutrition issue. One of the factors directly influencing stunting is the lack of nutrient intake, especially protein. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between protein intake and the risk of stunting in toddlers aged 6–59 months at the Dinoyo Community Health Center in Malang. The method used was a cross-sectional design. The study involved 40 mothers with toddlers aged 6–59 months, selected through purposive sampling. Data on protein intake were obtained using a Semi Quantitative-Food Frequency Questionnaire (SQ-FFQ) covering the past six months. Height-for-Age (H/A) indicators in z-scores were used to determine stunting based on H/A measurements. The results showed that 15 children (37.5%) were classified as stunted (-3 SD to < -2 SD) and 13 children (32.5%) were classified as severely stunted (< -3 SD). It was also found that excessive protein intake was observed in 10 children (25%) classified as stunted. Using the Chi-Square test, a P-value of 0.016 was obtained, where the P-value < 0.05. Based on this study, protein intake is associated with stunting in toddlers at the Dinoyo Community Health Center in Malang. Mothers need to improve protein intake for their toddlers to reduce the risk of stunting.
