Abstract
INDONESIA:
Tuntutan terhadap profesi dokter tidak hanya membutuhkan kompetensi teknis medis saja, tetapi juga kemampuan komunikasi, kepemimpinan, dan manajemen yang dapat didukung melalui kegiatan organisasi. Partisipasi dalam organisasi merupakan kegiatan non akademik yang secara teori diyakini mampu berkontribusi terhadap pengembangan kompetensi Mahasiswa. Namun, berdasarkan studi pendahuluan yang dilakukan, beberapa mahasiswa menyatakan bahwa keterlibatan aktif dalam organisasi berdampak negatif pada prestasi akademik mereka, khususnya pada nilai IPK. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji hubungan antara keaktifan berorganisasi dengan Indeks Prestasi Kumulatif (IPK) mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Dokter (PSPD) UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode observasional analitik dengan desain potong lintang (cross-sectional), di mana data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner terkait keaktifan berorganisasi dan dokumentasi IPK. Responden dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa PSPD angkatan 2021 dan 2022, dengan metode total sampling. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji korelasi Spearman untuk menguji hubungan antara variabel keaktifan organisasi dan IPK. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara keaktifan berorganisasi dengan nilai IPK mahasiswa, dengan nilai dan p-value sebesar 0.931. Kesimpulan: Kesimpulan yang dapat diambil dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa keterlibatan mahasiswa dalam organisasi, baik aktif maupun tidak aktif, tidak mempengaruhi prestasi akademik mereka dikarenakan banyak faktor lain yang berpengaruh kepada prestasi akademik. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi bahan pertimbangan bagi institusi pendidikan kedokteran dalam merancang kebijakan yang seimbang antara pengembangan organisasi dan prestasi akademik mahasiswa.

The demands of the medical profession require not only technical medical competence but also communication, leadership, and management skills, which can be supported through organizational activities. Participation in organizations is a non- academic activity theoretically believed to contribute to students’ competency development. However, preliminary studies have indicated that some students report active involvement in organizations negatively impacts their academic performance, particularly their GPA. Objective: This study examined the relationship between organizational involvement and the Grade Point Average (GPA) of students in the Medical Education Program (PSPD) at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. Methods: This research used an analytical observational method with a cross-sectional design, where data were collected through questionnaires on organizational activity and GPA documentation. The respondents in this study were PSPD students from the 2021 and 2022 cohorts, selected using a total sampling method. Data analysis was conducted using Spearman's correlation test to assess the relationship between organizational activity and GPA. Results: The study results showed no significant relationship between organizational involvement and student GPA, with a correlation coefficient and p-value of 0.931. Conclusion: The conclusion drawn from this study is that students' participation in organizations, whether active or inactive, does not affect their academic performance, as many other factors influence educational achievement. The results of this study are expected to serve as a consideration for medical education institutions in designing balanced policies between organizational development and students’ academic achievement.
