Abstract
ABSTRAK:
Penuaan dini merupakan kondisi timbulnya tanda penuaan yang muncul lebih awaldaripada yang seharusnya terjadi. Salah satu penyebabnya karena banyak kerusakan selyang terjadi akibat radikal bebas, sehingga dibutuhkan senyawa antioksidan untukmelawan radikal bebas agar penuaan dini dapat dicegah. Kayu bajakah memilikikandungan antioksidan kuat yang ditandai dengan nilai 8,25 ppm sehingga dapatmenjadi agen anti-aging yang baik. Kayu bajakah diekstraksi menggunakan metodemaserasi kemudian diformulasikan dalam sediaan gel. Penelitian ini dilakukan untukmengetahui variasi jumlah konsentrasi ekstrak kayu bajakah dalam sediaan gel anti-agingmemiliki nilai dalam kategori kuat, mengetahui formula terbaik dari sediaan gelanti-aging, membuktikan sediaan gel anti-aging telah memenuhi persyaratan karakteristikfisik dan stabilitas fisik yang baik serta mengetahui titik kritis halal dalam sediaan.Pengujian pada sediaan gel anti-aging meliputi uji titik kritis halal; karakteristik fisiksediaan pada parameter organoleptis, homogenitas, pH, daya sebar, daya lekat danviskositas; stabilitas fisik sediaan dengan metode cycling test dan uji aktivitas antioksidanmetode DPPH. Hasil uji titik kritis halal ditemukan titik kritis pada ekstrak kayu bajakahdan gliserin. Hasil uji karakteristik fisik menunjukan sediaan gel anti-aging memilikikarakteristik fisik yang baik pada semua parameter pengujian. Hasil uji stabilitas fisikmenunjukan sediaan gel anti-aging tidak mengalami perubahan yang signifikan. Hasil ujiaktivitas antioksidan menunjukan pada formula kontrol positif nilai sebesar 51,43ppm; formula 1 nilai sebesar 97,08 ppm; formula 2 nilai sebesar 68,96 ppm danformula 3 nilai sebesar 41,37 ppm. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapatdisimpulkan bahwa seluruh formulasi sediaan gel anti-aging ekstrak kayu bajakahmemiliki nilai dalam kategori kuat; formula terbaik dari sediaan gel anti-agingadalah formula 3; sediaan gel anti-aging telah memenuhi persyaratan karakteristik fisikdan stabilitas fisik sediaan yang baik dan terdapat titik kritis halal, yaitu pada ekstrakkayu bajakah dan gliserin yang masuk dalam kategori syubhat.
ABSTRACT:
Premature aging is a condition where signs of aging appear earlier than they should. Oneof the causes is the extensive cell damage caused by free radicals, thus requiringantioxidant compounds to combat them and prevent premature aging. Bajakah wood contains potent antioxidants, marked by an IC50 value of 8.25 ppm, making it a goodanti-aging agent. Bajakah wood is extracted using maceration method and thenformulated into a gel preparation. This research was conducted to determine the variationof concentrations of Bajakah wood extract in the anti-aging gel preparation with IC50values in the strong category, identify the best formula of the anti-aging gel preparation,demonstrate that the anti-aging gel preparation meets the requirements for good physicalcharacteristics and physical stability, and identify critical halal points in the preparation.Testing on the anti-aging gel preparation includes halal critical point test; physicalcharacteristics of the preparation on organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, spreadability,adhesion, and viscosity parameters; physical stability of the preparation using cycling testmethod and antioxidant activity test using DPPH method. The halal critical point testresults found critical points in Bajakah wood extract and glycerin. The physicalcharacteristics test results showed that the anti-aging gel preparation has good physicalcharacteristics in all testing parameters. The physical stability test results showed that theanti-aging gel preparation did not undergo significant changes. The antioxidant activitytest results showed that for the positive control formula, the IC50 value was 51.43 ppm;formula 1 had an IC50 value of 97.08 ppm; formula 2 had an IC50 value of 68.96 ppm,and formula 3 had an IC50 value of 41.37 ppm. Based on these research results, it can beconcluded that all formulations of the anti-aging gel preparation with Bajakah woodextract have IC50 values in the strong category; the best formula of the anti-aging gelpreparation is formula 3; the anti-aging gel preparation meets the requirements for goodphysical characteristics and physical stability, and there are critical halal points, namelyin Bajakah wood extract and glycerin, which fall into the syubhat category.
