The social outcast of the main characters in Ottessa Moshfegh's Lapvona

This research aims to analyze the impact of a social outcast and how to overcome it. The research titled The Social Outcast of The Main Characters in Ottessa Moshfergh's Lapvona uses The Social Outcast Theory by Williams. The researcher provides an understanding of the social outcast that occurs in the novel through the perspective of literary sociology. In this study, the researcher used a literary sociology approach, which focuses on the problem of the four impacts of social outcasts experienced by four main characters with different backgrounds and how to overcome these impacts. The data source used by this research is the novel Lapvona which is analyzed using literary criticism. The researcher used reading techniques and classified the data based on problems related to the research. The results of the research show that there are four impacts of social outcasts and efforts to overcome these impacts. The impacts of social outcasts include ostracism, social exclusion, rejection, and bullying. Factors that cause someone to experience social outcast are poverty, illness, physical disability, and so on. Overcome that can be made for these impacts are self-acceptance, and seeking support to rise and build a new identity.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak social outcast dan cara mengatasinya. Penelitian berjudul The Social Outcast of The Main characters in ottessa Moshfergh’s Lapvona menggunakan Teori The Social Outcast oleh Williams. Peneliti memberikan pemahaman tentang social outcast yang terjadi dalam novel tersebut melalui sudut pandang sosiologi sastra. Pada penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan pendekatan sosiologi sastra, yang mana berfokus pada permasalahan tentang empat dampak social outcast yang dialami oleh empat tokoh utama dengan latar belakang yang berbeda dan menjelaskan cara mengatasi dampak tersebut. Sumber data yang digunakan oleh penelitian ini adalah novel Lapvona yang dianalisis menggunakan kritik sastra. Peneliti menggunakan teknik membaca dan mengklasifikasikan data berdasarkan masalah yang berhubungan dengan penelitian. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat empat dampak dari social outcast dan upaya untuk mengatasi dampak tersebut. Dampak social outcast meliputi ostracism, social exclusion, rejection dan bullying. Faktor yang menyebabkan seseorang mengalami social outcast adalah kemiskinan, penyakit, cacat fisik dan lain sebagainya. Upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk dampak tersebut adalah penerimaan diri, mencari dukungan untuk bangkit dan membangun identitas baru.

تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى وصف تأثير المنبوذ الاجتماعي واستراتيجيات التكيف التي تحدث في رواية المنبوذ الاجتماعي للشخصيات الرئيسية في رواية Lapvona للروائية أويسه مشفرغ باستخدام نظرية المنبوذ الاجتماعي لويليامز. تقدم الباحثة فهمًا للمنبوذ الاجتماعي الذي يحدث في الرواية من خلال منظور علم الاجتماع الأدبي. تستخدم الباحثة في هذه الدراسة منهج علم الاجتماع الأدبي الذي يركز على إشكالية الآثار الأربعة للمنبوذين الاجتماعيين التي تعاني منها أربع شخصيات رئيسية ذات خلفيات مختلفة وكيفية التغلب على هذه الآثار. مصدر البيانات التي استخدمها هذا البحث هو رواية Lapvona التي تم تحليلها باستخدام النقد الأدبي. واستخدم الباحث تقنيات القراءة وتصنيف البيانات بناءً على المشكلات المتعلقة بالبحث. وقد أظهرت نتيجة البحث أن هناك فعلًا اجتماعيًا منبوذًا في رواية لابفونا. ويمكن ملاحظة ذلك من خلال التأثيرات الأربعة التي تعرضت لها الشخصيات الأربع الرئيسية في رواية لابفونا. وتشمل هذه الآثار النبذ والإقصاء الاجتماعي والرفض والتنمر. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، هناك عوامل تسبب النبذ الاجتماعي مثل الفقر والمرض والإعاقة الجسدية وما إلى ذلك
