Abstract
Analisis data memakai SPSS.
ABSTRACK
Dental caries as the most common problem experienced by the world's population is caused by the reaction of bacterial acids present in the dental biofilm (plaque) on the enamel surface. In the oral cavity itself, there are quite a lot of bacterial species, one of which is Streptococcus mutans. Therapy for maintaining oral hygiene has actually been introduced for a long time, especially those using herbal ingredients such as oil pulling therapy in Ayurveda. One of the ingredients used is vegetable oil such as sesame oil. This study aims to find out more about the use of vegetable oils, especially sesame oil which can be used in oil pulling therapy to determine its effectiveness in maintaining oral hygiene and inhibiting the development of bacteria in the oral cavity that often cause plaque and dental caries, namely Streptococcus mutans. This investigate could be a research facility test think about to decide MIC and MBC as antibacterial movement tests utilizing circle dissemination and tube weakening strategies, utilizing 4 medications of sesame extricate with concentrations of: 50%, 25%, 12 .5%, 6.25%, positive control (0.032 mg/ml amoxicillin), and negative control (aquadest). Information examination with SPSS. The comes about of this think about appeared that MIC was show at a concentration of 50% sesame seed extricate with an normal distance across of the hindrance zone (X = 1.1875 ± SD = 0.45 mm) and KBM was display at a concentration of 50% sesame seed extricate since it was the concentration of the seed extricate the most reduced sesame with the slightest number of colonies (+). The MIC information were analyzed utilizing the Kruskal-Wallis test (p = 0.001 importance) and the MBC information were not included within the measurable calculations due to the irregularity of the number of colonies due to the impediments of the colony distinguishing proof apparatus. The conclusion of the ponder was that sesame extricate (Sesamum indicum L.) was able to hinder the development of Streptococcus mutans microscopic organisms.
